Hi, I’m using the YouTube plugin at http://www.constantinb.com/project/wordpress-youtube-plugin

It basically imports the YouTube image, sets it as the featured image, and embeds the video in the Video Embed Code.

How can I include the featured image at /blog and if clicked on, it goes to the post which displays the embed?

    Hi DJQuad!

I’m not sure if this is possible within the theme but try to create posts for each embedded videos then set the Post Format to Link. Set the Youtube images as featured images for each posts. Add the link of the page with the embedded videos.

    Cheers!

Is that possible since the plugin creates the post?

    Hey!

It uses its own post type for the video posts correct? If thats the case then you wouldn’t be able to include them in the same regular blog feed automatically. You would need to create a new regular post for each automatically imported post that links to the plugin custom post type post.

    Regards,

I’m not sure but I’ll ask the author.

In case it doesn’t are there any plugins that will work with Enfold that you know of? Like I said, it needs to import images so I can use them in the blog feed, in a “latest posts” slider throughout the site, and embed the video within the post itself. I’ve seen it on quite a few sites and it seems like it’s a very common thing to do on sites which have YouTube channels.

It isn’t something that has ever come up and while it seems handy I can’t see a real need for it since it would be better in almost all cases to set it up manually. Even if the user is an extremely active partner they would be putting up a few videos a day and the screenshots/featured image would be the only thing that would need to be created. Then its just adding a new post to WordPress with that featured image and a link to the video.

You can add the idea for support of a specific plugin to the feature request topic however.

That would look dumb. I’ll suggest another theme for them to buy that already supports it.
