    Hi Everyone.
I’m trying to solve what should be relatively easy.
I want to include a ‘You May Also Like…’ at the bottom of each blog post with a grid layout of 6 blog posts in the same category using a Blog Posts content box.
However, the layout includes the same post of that page.
I’ve tried using the ‘Do not allow duplicate posts’ as well as setting the offset to 1 but both these do not work.
    What can I do?
    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hey Pirlyxyz,
Can you please include a admin login in the private content area, with the url to the page in question so we can take a closer look.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Hi Mike, did you manage to take a look at this?
I’m having a lot of trouble with my blog posts – Titles are too big, no read more tags and still duplicate images being displayed. I’ve spent hours trying to sort this out (all day Sunday), read all similar answers on this forum but nothing is helping…

    Regards,

    Peter.

    Hi,
We will need the url to the page in question so we can take a closer look, and if you include an admin login in the private content area it may help us investigate.
Often disabling your plugins will resolve many issues, then reactivating each one individually until the issue is found will root out the bad plugin :)

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike.
    Thanks for your reply.
I’ve managed to sort out all the other issues bar the duplicate posts. At the end of every post, I’ve included a text box with the content, You may Also Like… under this I’ve placed a Blog Posts content element but it includes the same post! I’ve tried every variation in the content settings and read all the answers already posted to similar questions so any help would be great.
I included my admin login and URL in my last reply so not sure if I’m doing something wrong? I’ll resend now in the private area but please can you let me know if you don’t receive it? Assuming you mean my user name and password for word press?
Do I need to be logged out for you to access?
    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi,

It isn ot possible to exclude the current post, only if you change the ordering to be ASC instead of desc.
Else, you would need to duplicate the element through a child theme and custom code the query, to get the current post and then remove it.
There is nothing else that can work on that we are afraid.

    Hi Basilis,

    Thanks for your reply.
I’ve searched pretty much everywhere but cannot find how to change from desc to ascending.
    Where is this located?
If this doesn’t work, can you recommend any plugins (not Jetpack as this screws up the comments box and seems to slow WP)

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Found it! Changed to Masonry Layout.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback, so that fixed your problem? Please let us know if you should need any further help on the topic.

    Hi Rikard.
I thought that I had fixed the problem by using the masonry grid and setting the posts to ascending.
Unfortunately, the masonry option, still displays the duplicate blog post until new posts eventually push if from view.
I don’t think that it is something that I will be able to resolve.
Perhaps this is an addition to the theme that could be included in future?
It’s such a basic function to have a ‘Related Posts’ at the bottom of each post and as it stands it makes my site look amateurish.
Maybe you could suggest a light weight plug in for the meantime??
    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks, we’ll look into it that for a future update. I don’t think we will create a plugin for it though.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
