Hi. I am attempting to translate 13 pages (under the menu heading SERVICES) to chinese (simplified) using microsoft translation via the WPML Plugin on our staging site. I selected the 13 pages and ran the translation but when I click on the Chinese flag for those pages it breaks the menu and does not display the page content. To test if this break was caused by the chinese characters, I did a test of a French translation for that one page. Part of the page itself translated to french but the main menu is also broken, and the footer is not displaying correctly. Is there something I can do to avoid this? The menu and footer should stay in English and not translate, Any advice appreciated as I am not sure what to do to get pages displaying correctly. I am posting login details in private area. Thank you

    Hey Martina,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Did you translate the menus to other languages? Please check this documentation: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael
I actually don’t want the menu translated, just the content of the page. But when I translate the page and publish, it breaks the menu – I will put the links in the private section below. This is very frustrating

    Hi,

You have to translate the menus because once any page is translated, WPML creates another version of the site for a different language. This separate version requires its own menu since WordPress menus are language-specific. If the menu isn’t translated, it won’t appear on the translated pages and WPML will assign a default menu, usually containing all pages. Please try to translate the current menu to the other language.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

We have decided not to use this plugin – too many complications – thank you for your assistance though

Have to add new request via this thread (even though its a different topic) as not seeing way to start a new thread?

Encountering problem where page not loading in edit mode on our staging site – its happening to one page that has multiple WPForms. Worked fine initially but when I went back in to edit header image, once I replaced the image, saved and went to reopen to edit again, the page goes into a spin loading (just displays the spinner – the ALB doesn’t load. It still is visible to view page online. Could it be the WPForms that is causing the problem (each has multiple notifications based on conditional logic). I will put links into the private content area. Thank you

Tested out both in Chrome and Firefox and same thing occurring with both browsers. Its not the actual background header image itself that is causing the problem as I added it to another page, and that is opening fine in edit mode.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

You can open a new inquiry here: https://kriesi.at/support/forum/enfold/#new-post

We created a test page (see the private field) and removed all wpforms shortcodes, but the builder still is not loading properly. We also tried removing half of the content on the page, but the issue persists.

Have you tried deactivating the plugins? Please create a site backup or restore point first, then temporarily deactivate the plugins.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael
Thanks for your response. I deactivated all plugins and created test page and the error was still occurring (ALB not loading).

I have debug mode on, and have noticed that all works if I removed that initial color section with the Special Header. When I save, and reopen to edit, ALB editor loads. Figured out that its because I was adding in the special header into the color section without adding in the one column from the layout elements. Once I added this in, and inserted special heading, all worked fine after saving and reopening to edit (3 hours later of investigation!!!). Delighted it was something so simple!
Thanks very much for the assistance!
