Hello!
I’ve purchased and installed a WPML plugin for the Enfold theme. When I create a page in second language (in this case english) and I want to copy the content from my primary language (italian) and it does take all the impostations except the articles and the footer menu widget. How can I include also these in the translation? Waiting for your kind and prompt answer.
Best regards,

1) The translated categories (English articles) have different ids than the Italian categories. Thus you can’t simply copy the content from the Italian website to the English website but you need to reconfigure the categories to query/show the (English) articles.
2) If you want to translate widgets in the footer I recommend to install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-widgets/ which enables you to translate the widgets with WPML.
Cheers!

I have three more issues:
1.) Articles: ok for the text content that I’ve translated but I can’t upload the images. In italian version they are visualised but in english they are not. NEWS section of the site http://www.step-lab.com/en/news/. Same thing goes for Portfolio Elements: I do not have the main picture, I can’t reload it and in the gallery it says “this element no longer exists”.2.) Translation of pages & portfolio elements: When I change something in the original language (italian) and I update the page (I first choose the option: “minor modification – do not update the translation” above the “Update” button) the english version gets updated but with italian language! I’ve tried everything to stop this but it goes on!
3.) Language Permalinks: this is italian language: http://www.step-lab.com/portfolio-articoli/macchina-elettromeccanica-per-test-di-fatica/
and thi is english: http://www.step-lab.com/en/portfolio-articoli/electromechanical-fatigue-test-machine/.
I want to change the sentence “portfolio-articoli” in english. I have WP installed in italian. How can I do that? Thanks in advance,

August 9, 2014 at 7:47 am #301938Hey!
1) Did you install/configure this WPML extension: http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/ ? It’s required to translate images like posts/pages.
2) Make sure all posts/pages/portfolio entries are translated independently. Otherwise the original entry overwrites the “cloned” translated entry. You just need to click the “Translate Independently” button: http://www.clipular.com/c/4673705724608512.png?k=0JgIrSOUpHKLo5oIjhbT1mPAbY8 on the editor page to stop this behavior.
3) See http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/translating-the-portfolio-slug-with-wpml/
Cheers!

I have one more question: how can I personalize this page: http://www.stepconsulting.eu/portfolio_voci/analisi-processo/. It seems it is automatically generated as “portfolio_articles”. I want to personalize the side bar menu, because now it is set in the widgets as “displayed everywhere” so this menu can be seen on every page with sidebar menu. I want it to be visible only on the portfolio articles (Archive pages). Many thanks,

August 14, 2014 at 5:49 pm #304506Hey!
1) Can you check the link please – http://www.step-lab.com/en/portfolio-articoli/electromechanical-fatigue-test-machine/ returns a 404 page.
2) I’m not sure but maybe another plugin causes a conflict with WPML. You can also try to clear the cookie cache because sometimes WPML sets a wrong language cookie. I noticed this bug if i.e. the mailchimp plugin is activated (see https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-wpml-problems/ ).
3) You can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-widgets/ – insert the widget into the “Display Everywhere” widget area, select “Show on checked pages” from the dropdown and tick the “Portfolio entries” checkbox below the “Taxonomies +/-” headline.
