A SHORT SUM-UP:
After upgrading to WP 4.3.1 all the portfolio items in Italian disappeared: a bunch of them (but not all) are still present in English, but they don’t work correctly (not category filter etc..).
This is the online site before the upgrade (this is how it should be!):

try to deactivate all other plugins but WPML, to check if one is causing this problem. If that does not help try to delete all theme files via FTP completely before getting a fresh copy from your themeforest account, because maybe there are some corrupted files.
