I’m not sure at which point this issue starting occurring, because I don’t monitor the site(s) in question religiously. Here’s some context:

    – WP Multisite with 16 sites, all running Enfold with the same child theme
    – Enfold version 4.3.2
    WPML version 3.9.2

Each of the child sites in the multisite has either a French or English main language. The Google Maps Enfold component works as expected on the primary language, but fails to appear on the secondary language. For example, if the site’s default language is English, the Google Maps will show up in the footer and Contact Us page just fine. However when you toggle the same site over to its French version, the Google Maps fails to load.

Just to be clear, the Maps worked just fine on both languages on all 16 sites at go-live. This has happened over the course of recent updates.

Here is the error that shows up in the console when refreshing the secondary language Contact Us page:

From file: https://siteurl.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/13/dynamic_avia/avia-footer-scripts-f65aae05e2260c7e417d2bec7e330152.js at line 118:
    Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier

From the page itself, line 231:
Uncaught ReferenceError: google is not defined
    at makeMap_1 ((index):231)
    at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> ((index):282)
    at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
    at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
    at Function.ready (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
    at HTMLDocument.K (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)

    And line 231 is:
    directionsDisplay = new google.maps.DirectionsRenderer;

Any feedback or assistance you can provide would be much appreciated.

    Hey Phil,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. The map works when the theme’s js and css compression options are disabled. Please try to use the Autoptimize plugin temporarily.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
