for the life of me, i cannot change the color of the background on the login page. wierdest thing ever. have tried body.login
i have tried going into the wp-admin/css/login.css and nothing. can you help me out. i need to change this from #f1f1f1 to #ffffff. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Yes, the login page customization requires some additional code – on the php and css level. I recommend to use a plugin like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-login/ to customize the login page.
