    Any word about this?

Both are out and there are no Enfold updates for a while.

Is everything compatible and working fine?
Is it safe to update both things?

    Thanks.

i have disabled on most of my installations – the automatic updates.
I do wait – because the new embedded jQuery ( v3.5.1 ) will cause on a lot of themes and plugins conflicts.
If the installation is allready done – try to install Enable jQuery Migrate Helper and set to legacy 1.12.4 jQuery
    until fixes are available

    Thank you Guenni007!

    Have you tested PHP 8?

    #1266032

No – php8 is not yet available at my provider (AllInkl)

    Wordfence Info on that

    Thanks.

I have everything and thats why I want to know Enfold team words for this.

    Their tests, results and recommendations.

Proceed with care on production sites:

WordPress Core aims to be compatible with PHP 8.0 in the 5.6 release (currently scheduled for December 8, 2020).

However, PHP 8.0 is a major version update with a large number of changes that break backwards compatibility, and many features that were deprecated within the PHP 7.x feature releases have been officially removed.

Significant effort has been put towards making WordPress 5.6 compatible with PHP 8 on its own, but it is very likely that there are still undiscovered issues remaining.

The state of PHP 8 support within the broader ecosystem (plugins, themes, etc.) is impossible to know. For that reason, WordPress 5.6 should be considered “beta compatible” with PHP 8.

    Hi peterolle,

If you don’t have to update to PHP 8 then I would recommend that you hold off for a while, since we have only started testing the theme with that. WordPress 5.6 has caused one problem in the latest version of the theme; if you are using an alternate menu for mobile in the theme settings, then that will not work. Other than that we haven’t seen any real problems with 5.6.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Thank you @Rikard.

I don’t need to use PHP 8 now, but I am interested in knowing your progress in that. Sooner or later things will move there and I am the ones that prefer to do it sooner.

For that Enfold support is needed and I just wanted to know that you are actually testing things and there is progress.

Thanks for sharing the mobile menu issue with 5.6. I only updated one site to test and everything is working fine for me. I don’t have alternate menu.

    Cheers.

on one installation the shrinking header was set to a fixed height with the same line-height. – and what was annoying was that it was set to the smallest value after shrinking. So both classes header-scrolled and header-scrolled-full were set directly
