Updated WP to 4.1 and now experiencing edit issues with current theme: Enfold 2.9.1. Pages load continuously and never open for editing. In creating a post, I can only type text and cannot insert for example a link. I notice subsequent releases of Enfold resolved issues with updates to WP. The existing website has lots of customizations and I understand simply updating the theme could result in loss of some of the customizations. Is there a way to go about this to update just the relevant code while maintaining the site functionality.

    Hey Awelana!

Please update Enfold to the latest version 3.0.4 – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
version 2.9.1 s not compatible with WordPress 4.+

    Cheers!

I did this and it said I am all updated – deactivated all plug-ins – still having the loading issue plus will not let me add media to a blog post.

    Hi Yigit,

Just to clarify as you did not address my concerns with customizations: I have looked at the instructions on your link and it is pretty straight forward. Can you please confirm that updating this way (via manual FTP) will not result in loss of any customizations?
    Thanks

    Also:
Are you able to provide a list of the files to replace upgrading from 2.9.1 to 3.0.4 to avoid overwriting customizations. the version file has quite a lot of files listed for each version between these two so I am looking for a quick listing that i can work from.
    Would be very much appreciated.

    Hi!

The whole /framework/ folder was updated in order to keep the theme compatible with WP 4.0.1, i’d suggest performing a backup before updating (via FTP).

You can check the change log here:
