Hi,
just done the WordPress 4.0 & Enfold 2.9.2 updates & my site has multiple errors:
1 – fullscreen sliders don’t appear & the blank space extends far below browser window (‘home’ page & ‘what we do’ page)
2 – color section & included content don’t appear & blank space extended too long (‘home’ page)
3 – animated list with icons doesn’t animate (‘what we do’ page)I’ve tested it with all my custom css removed & it doesn’t make a difference,
any thoughts?Thanks!
September 17, 2014 at 1:12 pm #320455Hey JayBones!
Please try re-updating Enfold via FTP and make sure to overwrite all files – http://vimeo.com/67209750
Currently there is an error on avia.js fileBest regards,
YigitSeptember 17, 2014 at 7:25 pm #320681Thanks Yigit,
I’ve reinstalled via FTP 3 times & it hasn’t come right – I’ve also just gone in now & over-written just the avia.js file & also nothing,
could there be another fix?Thanks,
J
September 17, 2014 at 8:43 pm #320715Hey!
Try deleting the js folder and then re-uploading it. You are still somehow loading up the old prettyphoto folder which is no longer used.
Cheers!
DevinSeptember 17, 2014 at 10:25 pm #320770Unfortunately still no luck.
Tried the js folder and then I re-downloaded the Enfold theme & made sure that I’ve replaced it entirely, by uploading the zip file & extracting it directly within the cPanel file manager. Also tried deactivating all plugins & that didn’t help either.
Thanks,
JSeptember 18, 2014 at 5:06 pm #321311Ok, now something’s REALLY gone wrong…
I tried replacing all and Enfold files with a backup I did of the entire site about a month ago & now I’m locked out of the dashboard, with a note that says:
“No Update Required
Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!”Any thoughts on this along with the original problem that is persisting?
Thanks
September 18, 2014 at 6:47 pm #321384There should be no chance of that happening from writing over a theme or even completely breaking your theme folder. There would need to be something else involved for WordPress core to fail like that.
I would suggest first asking your hosting provider to do a site scan to make sure there are no malicious files or code anywhere in your installation.
Then FTP to your installation again and download your plugins and themes folders locally. After that you can delete the plugins folder and then delete all themes except for twentyfourteen from the themes folder so WordPress defaults back to it.
See if that gets you access to things again.
September 19, 2014 at 10:59 am #321802Thanks Devin,
I’ve completely wiped all files through the cPanel File Manager & reinstalled my site from the backup that I created last month (including the database backup I made at the same time).
This allowed me access to the wp admin, where as expected due to the old files, I was running an older version of wordpress & Enfold.
Unexpectedly though, this didn’t fix the colour section breaks!?I’ve now updated both WordPress & Enfold, I still have admin access but the colour sections are still broken.
I also did a test with a fullwidth masonry gallery – which doesn’t display at all, just like the content within the colour sections.you mentioned it could be a js issue, do you have any other ideas on what it could be or how I could go about getting it fixed?
Thanks,
JSeptember 19, 2014 at 4:10 pm #321947Hi guys,
In waiting for a solution I’ve moved some things around on the site so that I don’t have a broken page as a landing page.
You can see the colour sections breaks here still:
Thanks,
J
September 20, 2014 at 9:53 am #322263Hi!
Are you sure you override the whole theme files? We already removed the prettyPhoto plugin on the latest version of the theme and yet there’s an error on your site regarding the plugin. Did you add any modifications directly on the theme files?
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 22, 2014 at 12:15 pm #322933Hi Ismael,
It looks like I’ve finally got things working again.
Your mention of ‘modifications directly on theme files’ tipped me off:The only two theme files I’ve modified are the custom.css (for my own font) & the functions.php with the provided code for adding custom classes. However, instead of re-adding this code to the newly provided functions.php file, I copied over the old one…
Lesson learned, Child Theme from here on out.
Thanks again to everyone for your constant help, for Enfold, which is such a great theme & for constantly updating it with new features!
J
