I have upgraded Word Press to 4.7 on a simple installation using Enfold but I have a few with much more extensive usage. Does anyone know if Enfold is CONFIRMED to be okay with 4.7? Thanks in advance.

    #721307

Came here to find out. Snapshot my machine and upgraded. Seems to be working fine.

    Hi,

We have tested it with 4.7 and we haven’t been able to find any errors yet. Please report any issues you might find here.

    Best regards,

    @kenwae

    i had the same problem.
anyone know how to fix this problem?

    #721429

Ok i fixed my problem to login.
it was the problem with plugin total cache.

i renamed the Pluginfolder from total cache and login to my Dashboard. it displays that i must make a db update and than i can login again.
Logout, rename the total cache folder to the original and login again. Purge all caches.

I went to the W3 Total Cache plug in folder at my C panel. Changed the name. Tried then to log in, and get this message:

I got some strange menu buttons with advance_menu_hide in the top + some dark lines between each place in the menu.
They was not a part of the schema earlier.

Updated to newest of Enfold, wordpress + W3.

    #721740

I just updated to WP 4.7 today and now I can’t see any info when I go to edit pages/posts. The pages are there online so it has something to do with the editor bringing in the information. I’ve deactivated all plugins except i2SDK since that is needed for Enfold to work. Do you have any ideas?

Also, I can’t upload any pictures through the media uploader.

    Hi Epic,

Enfold is not the active theme on your site, please contact your active theme’s authors for support of their theme.

    Best regards,

I posted this on another thread as well; my problem was W3 Total Cache and Brute Force Log In Protection plugins. Disable those two, at least, before updating to WP 4.7.

    #721843

Thanks @kenwae but I can’t edit my pages at all…

Enfold team: I need immediate help if anyone is awake written early hours of the AM.

Ps this issue was noticed before I updated… So went ahead to update thinking it would solve the issue. VERY WRONG

    Hi,

Using a brand new install of WordPress 4.7 on Pantheon and I get this message when I try to visit the site after uploading and activating Enfold 3.8:
Warning: session_start(): user session functions not defined in /srv/bindings/eb0bb13864fc441ab62f5ac9ead6b1e5/code/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/masonry_entries.php on line 32 Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: ) in /srv/bindings/eb0bb13864fc441ab62f5ac9ead6b1e5/code/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/masonry_entries.php on line 32

I haven’t got the Totalcache plugin installed at all.

I’ve just posted on another thread in the last 24 hours… Ditto same problem, PHP errors , switches my off plugins/htaccess didn’t help … went for 3day old restore …

    #722455

What web host are you using? Siteground has their own caching plugin named SG CachePress. It may be an issue with their version of such a utility if it is activated.

Everything except the visual editor for the text block seems to be working now. When I go to edit or create with the text block, there isn’t anything visible. I can highlight the text that is in the box but it won’t show up visibly. I click over to the text editor and I can see the text the first time. If I go back to the visual editor (which now won’t even show the area to type text) and go back to the text editor, the text isn’t visible there either.

I have some updates that I need to make to several pages today so that we can send out our newsletter next week. This HAS to be fixed or I can’t do what I need to do. I am also needing to create several new pages next week that I’ve committed to so this needs to be fixed.

I see others are still having problems and no one from support is responding. At least let us know you’re working on it. It’s frustrating to feel like our issues are being ignored….

    Hello,

I have this problem in my footer after installing WP 4.7: Warning: Illegal string offset ‘language_code’ in /data/web/virtuals/144697/virtual/www/domains/opagroup.cz/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-wpml/config.php on line 488

Could you help me with this?

    Thank you Ondrej

I have only updated one of my (23) sites and I am having issues all over the place with that site.

Avia Editer is not showing/functioning but some pages do show on the front end, just not correctly due to missing sections, blocks, and unrecognized code. Some pages only display shortcode such as this one: http://boudoirphilly.com/cheryl/ both front and backend.

On the backend, pages and posts are missing the avia editor or it was disabled on update to 4.7.

In the footer I have the errors about avia editor not loading, but this is intermittent.

I disabled all plugins and the results were the same. Plugins installed are the following.
    Akismet – Active
    AWeber Web Forms – Active
    Better Analytics – Active
Jetpack by WordPress.com – Active (more below)
    TinyMCE Advanced – Active
    Under Construction – Deactivated
    Yoast SEO – Active

    Jetpack active settings:
    General: None
Engagement: Site Stats, Publicize, Enhanced Distribution.
    Security: Protect, Monitor.
    Appearance: None
    Writing: Spelling and Grammar.

More in private notes, including login ID, hosting info, etc.

My site is completely down, so I contacted my hosting service. They said it was a theme issue and they reset it to a generic WP theme. I was then able to login to the WP dashboard but Enfold was not in the sidebar menu anymore. Went to Appearance -> Themes and Enfold is there with an “activate’ button. Click “activate” and site crashes again. When WP updated to 4.7 I did not receive any notification that Enfold needed to update. I was expecting that notification to come soon, but instead everything crashed. Do I need to remove the Enfold installation and start over?

    #722878

Wow. Well . . . I guess that cinches it. NOT updating to 4.7 until these issues get sorted. Sorry to see so many folks go through issues. I’m sure Kriesi and the awesome support team here will address them soon.

    #723232

    Hi,

this is getting very confusing here, as different people are posting about different problems. Please use your very own ticket to adress your issue.

I tested WP 4.7. with Enfold and it works fine for me. So there might be some corrupted files, so please delete all theme files completely via FTP, before installing a fresh copy from your themeforest account. Here is a short tutorial on how to install the theme via FTP, in case you are not sure how that works:

Also make sure is your issue is not rooted in for example a caching issue.

    Best regards,
    Andy

    #723318

W3TotalCache seems currently not be compatible with WP 4.7, see this thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/read-this-first-wordpress-4-7-master-list/#post-8521431

    #723322

I don’t have any cacheing software running and I have the issues listed above in my previous post. Cache may be part of the issue, and I certainly recommend disabling it at least for testing purposes.

Also note that Although Kriesi is saying it worked for them, the chances are that the update to Enfold 3.8.2 and our issues were lovers passing in cyber space. I just got the release for 3.8.2 and ThemeForrest takes typically a week to get out a new version. The guys at Kriesi may have been testing with a newer version that we all have installed.

I have updated and still have some of the issues but updating out of order may be the cause. I will update Enfold on one of my other sites and then update WP to 4.7. I have a feeling that is going to resolve most, if not all, of the issues I have.

    #723816

    Hi,

yes, please make sure that you’re using newest WP, theme and plugin versions. Keep all plugins deactivated for testing purposes and follow the instructions from above in case some files are corrupted.

    Best regards,
    Andy

    #723830

    Hi!

If you are having “Warning: ILLEGAL STRING OFFSET ‘LANGUAGE_CODE’” issue, please update WPML to the latest version 3.6.2.

If you are having issue loading templates, please update Enfold to the latest version 3.8.3 – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ which was released today to fix this issue :)

    Regards,
    Yigit
