Ok, I watched Ferdy’s Woocommerce tutorial on YouTube. I followed it step by step but for some reason my pages aren’t looking like his. I’ve gone back over it a few times and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’m not so concerned about the Shop page itself because I’ll probably make a custom one using the Advanced Layout Editor and just link it to the Product pages.
When I create the product page, I can’t find a way to disable the sidebar because on the right under layout it says “This element only works with activated advanced layout builder.” When I view my page the sidebar comes in at the bottom and looks terrible. How do I undo the sidebar or maybe just add the cart to the sidebar?
Also, when I add pictures to the gallery for the product, they don’t come up as nice little thumbnails underneath the main photo, like on Ferdy’s tutorial. They show up as full size pictures underneath the main pic. How can I fix this?
And am I understanding right that you can’t use the Advanced Layout Editor on the individual product pages and the cart? Thanks for the help!

Please, may you give me more details about this Ferdy`s tutorial?
Best regards,
John TorvikApril 18, 2017 at 10:20 pm #779680That’s the spot in Ferdy’s tutorial where you’ll see what the individual product page is supposed to look like. The extra photos in the gallery are supposed to show up as thumbnails underneath the main image. Even though I’ve followed his directions to the t, my extra gallery images come in full size underneath the main photo, you can check it out here…
You’ll also notice that the sidebar items are displaying underneath the pics as well and not in the sidebar area. It seems that I can’t deactivate the sidebar settings in the Layout section because it says “This element only works with activated advanced layout builder.”
I’m almost finished with the site and am really stuck on this, so I appreciate any and all help! Thanks.
April 18, 2017 at 10:36 pm #779685FYI in the sidebar settings area of my Enfold Theme Options, I have No Sidebar set to all the top 4 options, and the 2 checkboxes below that are checked (Smartphone and page navigation) and Sidebar Separator is set to With Border.
In the Layout section of the actual product page for the shirt, the first option where you usually can choose whether the page has a sidebar or not only works with the advanced layout builder and can’t be changed. Sidebar settings underneath that I haven set to Default sidebar. The footer settings are also set to default, the title bar settings is hide both, and header visibility is set to no transparency.
Also, could this have anything to do with the fact that I installed Woocommerce after I had already worked up the site? Should I have installed it first?
Hope that gives necessary info to fix this, thanks.
April 19, 2017 at 3:18 am #779746Ok, by massive trial and error that took me hours, I figured out the sidebar problem. In my widgets section I had my Instagram and Facebook widgets in Display Everywhere. I moved them to sidebar pages and it seemed to work. Although I don’t really understand why the sidebar wouldn’t display properly anyway. Can you not have a sidebar on the Woocommerce product pages?
The bigger problem still stands. For the life of me I can’t figure out why the gallery images aren’t appearing as thumbnails on the product pages. This is getting really frustrating, I’ve watched that youtube tutorial like 5 times now trying to figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated.
April 19, 2017 at 9:04 pm #780143Any help on this? My deadline is coming up quickly and I’m at a complete loss! Thanks.
April 20, 2017 at 11:00 am #780439Hi likegluelikecrew,
I wanted to check your website today but got connection timeout. Is your website up?
Best regards,
VictoriaApril 20, 2017 at 7:25 pm #780712Hi Victoria, you’ve written this to me before on other threads. I’m really not sure what could be wrong, I’m not expert on this stuff. I had other people check on their computers and phones and all of them were able to view the site. Are you sure you have the address right?
April 21, 2017 at 2:48 am #780945Is anybody else having a problem seeing the site?
April 21, 2017 at 10:35 am #781085@likegluelikecrew there is no configurable sidebar for woocommerce product pages in Enfold. It would need some custom development to change that. From your website I can see you are not running the latest Enfold version. And you have WooCommerce 3.0.3 but without the necessary patch. Please update Enfold and WooCommerce to the latest versions and apply my patch.
April 22, 2017 at 12:48 am #781490Thanks so much mensmaximus! Just to clarify a few things…
1. I watched Ferdy’s Enfold Woocommerce tutorial on YouTube and he points out that you can have a sidebar using the Single Product Pages widget. Is this an option or should it not be used?
2. I am running Enfold Version: 4.0.3. In my backend dashboard it’s telling me that my theme is up to date, but I did some research and it looks like there is a version 4.0.5. Is this correct? When I go to my Enfold Theme settings and to Theme update, it’s telling me No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.0.3). How would I update to the latest version then?
3. My woocommerce is Version 3.0.4. It’s my understanding this is the latest version, and my plug in section is not asking me to update. Is this correct?
4. Just to be clear, your patch is to download the enfold-child.zip, open the functions.php file and add your code snippet (Woocommerce 3.0.0 Compatibility Fix), save it, and then upload it as a new theme. This will wipe out my work, but if I go to the Enfold theme options to Import/Export and click the Import Parent Theme Settings, all my work will come back and everything should be fixed. Correct?Thanks for your time, much appreciated!
April 26, 2017 at 9:16 pm #783695Hi,
1.) You can try, but we can’t guarantee or help to make it work.
2.) Then install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/
Als best to check on Envato/Themeforest about the newest Enfold version: https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990#item-description__changelog3.) Please check about latest version on the WooCommerce website.
4.) It won’t wipe out your work, as all your content is stored inside your database, which you won’t touch. However, make a backup, just in case.
Best regards,
AndyApril 29, 2017 at 2:12 am #784883Andy, I really appreciate the response. Got it on 1, thanks. For 2, will that plug in install the latest version of Enfold for me? I read the plug in description and couldn’t make heads or tails out of it. You’ll have to excuse me, I’m a layperson when it comes to this stuff, if you could walk me through how to get the latest version (4.0.5.) that would help big time. 3, I checked and yes it is the latest version. 4, will do!
May 2, 2017 at 5:20 am #786112Hi,
2.) No, it won’t install the latest version but it should clean the database and let you update the theme automatically in the theme options. If the automatic update is still not working after cleaning the transients, please try to update the theme via FTP.

IsmaelMay 4, 2017 at 6:53 am #787610Ismael, thanks, I’ll try this tomorrow. Hopefully it will fix the gallery images problem.
May 5, 2017 at 4:24 am #788170Hey thanks everyone, I updated to the latest version of Enfold via FTP and it fixed the problem with the thumbnails not showing up on the Single Product pages. I didn’t do the patch with the child theme as recommended by mensmaximus, should I still do that? What does it do exactly?
On a side note, I tried adding the cart, facebook and instragram to Single Products Pages sidebar in Widgets, but it still doesn’t show up as a sidebar on the actual pages, they just come in underneath the product pictures. No biggie though, I just won’t have a sidebar.
Is there any way to have a header image on the Single Products pages like I have on my other pages, or is that not available since the Advanced Layout Builder is not usable with Woocommerce?
Thanks for your help.

That is the actual position of the “sidebar” on single product pages. If you want to adjust the layout, please refer to this link.

You can use hooks to create additional elements inside the product area.
// https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/introduction-to-hooks-actions-and-filters/
// https://docs.woocommerce.com/wc-apidocs/hook-docs.htmlExample:
add_action('woocommerce_before_single_product', 'woocommerce_before_single_product_mod'); function woocommerce_before_single_product_mod() { echo "SOMETHING HERE"; }
Best regards,
