Can you explain to me why this isn’t working? Go here… http://strengthinnumberscoaching.com/video-slider-test/
Video is on the first slide and it’s supposed to be the correct proportions. The first time you view it, it probably will look right. Let the slider run and/or refresh. From then on if not already initially it should show the video all squished.
Secondly, the slider settings are set to pause the slideshow while the video is playing but it’s not working right.
Thirdly, it of course is not being responsive on mobile. Any way to fix this?
Additionally, (different issue) when you view this slider or the one on my main page the background images for slides 3 and 4 don’t look correct at all even though they do on desktop.
HELP!

January 22, 2016 at 2:41 am #569695Hey!
Please note that, LayerSlider doesn’t support Wistia embeds out of the box:
http://codecanyon.net/item/layerslider-responsive-wordpress-slider-plugin-/1362246/comments?page=218&filter=all#comment_5775794Although it may take some custom code we’d like to take a look but the access you provided isn’t working.
Best regards,
JosueJanuary 22, 2016 at 4:38 am #569753I’m not quite sure what to do with this? What is my next step? I don’t think the issue is wistia. I tried it with Youtube too. Same issue.
January 22, 2016 at 8:38 am #569810Hi!
Can you please place a youtube video, that supports mobile version and show us the link so we can test?
Best regards,
BasilisJanuary 22, 2016 at 10:44 am #569890Also, please re-check the username provided here, it’s not working.
January 22, 2016 at 7:24 pm #570285Try username “kriesi”.
As far as a youtube video that supports mobile version how do I do that? All the embed code that youtube gives me has pixel settings for width and height.
January 25, 2016 at 11:15 am #571223Hey!
Wistia seems to work fine with LS on normal conditions, i’ve created a test slider here:
http://strengthinnumberscoaching.com/slider-test-kriesi/Regards,
JosueMay 26, 2016 at 4:37 am #638431So in continuing to try and make this work I’ve now got it so the video is a pop-over not inline embed. The problem is that 1. that element is not responsive in the slider (look at the page in mobile) and 2. it seems to be somehow preventing the slide from advancing completely.
HELP! I just want to put my video I made in OCTOBER into this slider and have it work right!!!

June 6, 2016 at 1:27 pm #643442Hi,
I’ve added these codes to style.css to manage the size of the embed in the various screen sizes:
.ls-l .wistia_embed{ height:200px;width:356px } @media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .ls-l .wistia_embed{ height:120px;width:250px } } @media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { .ls-l .wistia_embed{ height:80px;width:156px } }
Modify as needed.
The slideshow not rotating was caused because the “start slideshow” option was disabled in Slider Settings > Slideshow.
Best regards,
JosueJune 6, 2016 at 7:45 pm #643582Thank you! That sounds overwhelming. How can I possibly know the correct sizes? I tried entering the site http://strengthinnumberscoaching.com/video-slider-test/ into http://www.responsinator.com but if I update your code it doesn’t appear to change anything and I have no way to have all those devices and test all the resolutions/sizes/codes.
Any suggestions/help?
June 7, 2016 at 2:03 am #643741But have you checked it with the codes i put? it should work on most screen sizes.
Best regards,
JosueJune 7, 2016 at 5:55 pm #644235Yes. Too big.
Here’s iphone 6s vertical and horizontal, ipad Mini vertical and horizontal, and iPad Air vertical and horizontal.
It should be as tall as the top of “There is Hope” and the bottom of the blue box, and no wider than the end of “Welcome to Strength In Numbers!”
iPhone 6s vertical
iPhone 6s horizontal
iPad Mini vertical
iPad Mini horizontal
iPad Air vertical
iPad Air horizontal
P.S. I really wish this forum had an image uploader. That was painstaking.
June 7, 2016 at 5:56 pm #644236BTW is there a way to get around this by using a fixed image of that video frame so it is dynamically resized by the slider yet when you click that image it opens the video the same way?
June 8, 2016 at 5:37 am #644529Hi,
I adjusted the CSS a bit.
If we could use an Image type layer, LayerSlider will automatically resize it but as this is not the case we need to set the sizes manually.
I don’t know if Wistia provides a direct URL to the video (similar to a youtube embed), if that’s an option we could link the Image layer to it and make it open using the Enfold popup script.

JosueJune 8, 2016 at 11:37 pm #645137Here are all the code options Wistia gives me with the respective code. Anything look workable?
Inline Embed
<script charset="ISO-8859-1" src="//fast.wistia.com/assets/external/E-v1.js" async></script><div class="wistia_embed wistia_async_uor4461zof" style="height:200px;width:356px"> </div>
Inline Embed Responsive
<script charset="ISO-8859-1" src="//fast.wistia.com/assets/external/E-v1.js" async></script><div class="wistia_responsive_padding" style="padding:56.25% 0 0 0;position:relative;"><div class="wistia_responsive_wrapper" style="height:100%;left:0;position:absolute;top:0;width:100%;"><div class="wistia_embed wistia_async_uor4461zof videoFoam=true" style="height:100%;width:100%"> </div></div></div>
The above can also be toggled to Fallback instead of Standard Javascript Embed code, plus you can check a box for oEmbed URL. Says recommended for WordPress.
Popover Embed
<script charset="ISO-8859-1" src="//fast.wistia.com/assets/external/E-v1.js" async></script><span class="wistia_embed wistia_async_uor4461zof popover=true popoverAnimateThumbnail=true" style="display:inline-block;height:200px;width:356px"> </span>
Popover Embed Responsive
<script charset="ISO-8859-1" src="//fast.wistia.com/assets/external/E-v1.js" async></script><div class="wistia_responsive_padding" style="padding:56.25% 0 0 0;position:relative;"><div class="wistia_responsive_wrapper" style="height:100%;left:0;position:absolute;top:0;width:100%;"><span class="wistia_embed wistia_async_uor4461zof popover=true popoverAnimateThumbnail=true videoFoam=true" style="display:inline-block;height:100%;width:100%"> </span></div></div>

June 8, 2016 at 11:52 pm #645143Hi,
I tried the last one but this is the result:
http://strengthinnumberscoaching.com/wistia-test-2/I think manually resizing would be the way to go, it’s just a matter of tweaking the numbers if needed.

June 8, 2016 at 11:56 pm #645145Does this have any validity? “The above can also be toggled to Fallback instead of Standard Javascript Embed code, plus you can check a box for oEmbed URL. Says recommended for WordPress.”
June 9, 2016 at 12:24 am #645156What happens if you do that? (toggle fallback)
June 9, 2016 at 12:26 am #645159Here’s the responsive one
<div class="wistia_responsive_padding" style="padding:56.25% 0 0 0;position:relative;"><div class="wistia_responsive_wrapper" style="height:100%;left:0;position:absolute;top:0;width:100%;"><iframe src="//fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/uor4461zof?videoFoam=true" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" class="wistia_embed" name="wistia_embed" allowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen width="100%" height="100%"></iframe></div></div> <script src="//fast.wistia.net/assets/external/E-v1.js" async></script>
And the fixed one
<div class="wistia_responsive_padding" style="padding:56.25% 0 0 0;position:relative;"><div class="wistia_responsive_wrapper" style="height:100%;left:0;position:absolute;top:0;width:100%;"><iframe src="//fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/uor4461zof?videoFoam=true" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" class="wistia_embed" name="wistia_embed" allowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen width="100%" height="100%"></iframe></div></div> <script src="//fast.wistia.net/assets/external/E-v1.js" async></script>
What about the oEmbed URL thing?
June 9, 2016 at 1:13 am #645163None of the script based one will work, what we need is a direct URL to the video file, have you tried reaching Wistia support?
June 9, 2016 at 3:27 am #645184No, I will now.
June 9, 2016 at 3:37 am #645185Looking into the code of someone else I know who uses Wistia this is one of the links I found in “src”
//fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/x99w59j848?videoFoam=true
Perhaps that’s the scheme we’re looking for?The whole code was
<iframe class="wistia_embed" src="//fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/x99w59j848?videoFoam=true" name="wistia_embed" width="639" height="388" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" oallowfullscreen="oallowfullscreen" msallowfullscreen="msallowfullscreen" style="width: 639px; height: 388px;"></iframe>
June 9, 2016 at 3:42 am #645186P.S. I have this video hosted on Vimeo too if we can’t get Wistia to work. Does that help? I don’t want Youtube. Doesn’t look professional. Wistia looks best IMO.
June 9, 2016 at 3:46 am #645187Does this article shed any light on the issue?
