Dear Enfold Team,
One of my client would like to build a site with sidebar that may consist up to 15 custom menu with 40+ submenu
I’ve try to use the custom menu and realized that I can’t make the side bar menu into drop down list or accordion. I’ve downloaded several plug in and it doesn’t work. It will just end up showing 55 menus in the sidebar.
Is there any recommendation ? Once I’ve solution, I will purchase enfold once again for my client web development project.
Kindly have a look on this web

November 17, 2014 at 7:46 pm #352657Hey chunhowe!
Try dragging over a text widget and add this inside it.
[av_toggle_container initial='0' mode='accordion' sort=''] [av_toggle title='Toggle 1' tags=''] [av_sidebar widget_area='test'] [/av_toggle] [/av_toggle_container]
And then create a new widget area called “test” and add the custom menu widget to it.

You have to create a custom widget area called “test” and then drag a custom menu widget to it. It’s working fine on my XAMPP setup so try deactivating all plugins and upload a fresh copy of the theme.

Please explain how to make left sidebar toggle menu.
I created “test” widget area.
Added the Text widget into it, and added the code you gave.
Added custom menu to the widget with the main menu in it.but it still show the Enfold normal menu.
May 14, 2015 at 4:41 pm #444391Hey!
When you say “toggle menu” are you referring to the accordion toggles? Or are you wanting to display a regular menu but have the sub menus hidden and displayed when the parent menu links are clicked on?
Best regards,

In order for us to get a better idea of what you’re trying to, please provide a screenshot. Is the custom menu widget not enough? You can create multiple menus, one for each page.

Not sure what you mean. Have you got an example? Though it sounds to me like you would need to search a plugin for this kind of function.Regards,

Yes! This is exactly what I want to do.
Will you share how you did that… please.
October 25, 2015 at 11:09 am #524365Hi Allyson2,
Sharing and helping is what makes the Kriesi community so helpful.
First, you need to use a plugin called: WP Responsive Menu
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-responsive-menu/I use the free version still, but I might get the Pro version as well.
Install that WPR plugin.
Under the wordpress admin menu section, create and name the menu you’ll use, and add the menu items you want to it. (i used PHOTOGRAPHERS)
Then go to the WPR setting menu.
General Setting:
Select “Enable Mobile Navigation”
Under “select menu”… choose the menu you have created before. (PHOTOGRAPHERS)Under “Elements to hide in mobile:” I placed this css:
.av-masonry-sort,.logo“Enable Swipe”: Yes
“Search Box”: Hide
“Allow zoom on mobile devices”: YesMenu Appearance: (under the WPR setup)
“Menu Symbol Position”: Left
Under “Menu Logo”: place your logo (square is good)
“Menu Open Direction”: Left
“Display menu from width (in (Email address hidden if logged out) )”: 768
“Menu Width”: 80
“Enable borders for menu items”; No
———–And that is it.
Remember that these are my settings, and you might have slight different setup.Contact me if you need help.
Best
Dan LavieOctober 25, 2015 at 4:11 pm #524408I tried the plugin suggested by Dan and quickly discovered that it affected the top nav menu (I am not using the Photography version of Enfold).
(see screenshot below)
I immediately deactivated and uninstalled it, hoping the menu would go back to normal, but it didn’t.
It seems to have removed several links from my menu. I tried to add them back in, but it won’t let me save them… and when I do, it deselects the menu from the Appearance > Menus > Manage Locations > Main Menu (Assigned Menus).
I even tried creating a new menu, but it will only allow me to save approximately 12 links.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
P.S. I would still like to try to implement this plugin for the sidebar menu if possible.
October 26, 2015 at 8:28 pm #525167Dear Allyson2,
All you need is some basic modifications in the Enfold theme.
You don’t really need to use the “photography” demo import, you can have it just like it or similar, it’s your choice.
The Enfold settings allow you to almost any layout you might think of.If you want my help let em know.
Best

Send us a precise link, where we can see the issue showing in your screenshot. We would need admin access as well, you can post login details here as private reply. If you have any troubles or questions about the 3rd party plugin for your menu, then please feel free to ask plugin’s author about it.

AndyNovember 12, 2015 at 10:21 pm #535108Hi Elliott,
I followed these directions exactly and it worked perfectly and of course matches the theme.
Try dragging over a text widget and add this inside it.
[av_toggle_container initial='0' mode='accordion' sort='']
[av_toggle title='Toggle 1' tags='']
[av_sidebar widget_area='test']
[/av_toggle]
[/av_toggle_container]
And then create a new widget area called “test” and add the custom menu widget to it.I then replaced ‘Toggle 1’ with ‘Newsletters’ and replaced ‘test’ with ‘newsletters’
Thank you so much!
Kind Regards,
CarolynNovember 13, 2015 at 8:32 am #535279October 18, 2016 at 4:40 pm #700759Hi Dan;
I just happened upon your solution in the Enfold support forum. I want to create a similar menu as you provided in http://www.silkphotos.com. I would like a menu that has an link called Portfolio, which when expanded will contain my portfolio pages, which could grow in number. I just can’t get it to work. I can create portfolio pages, but don’t know the setting for the higher level “folder” page, or how to create the accordion menu look/feel. The plugin is very basic so I must be missing something.
Thank you
