URGENT! After the update to the new version I have only one white page in the frontend and the backend. I can not open anything anymore. I am shown the following:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /var/www/vhosts/stingray-divers.at/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/enfold2/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php:16) in /var/www/vhosts/stingray-divers.at/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/enfold2/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php on line 8
Please to quickly fix the error, the website is currently down.

I have now switched back to the old version because I can not wait more than an hour. My website needs to be online. Please solve the problem anyway, so that I can carry out a new update. The folder is now called “enfoldnew” where the above problem is.

    Hi

Why does it say /enfold2/ and not just enfold in your error message?
In my opinion this can only work if you use enfold there otherwise the theme won’t be recognised.

How exactly did you perform the Enfold update? Did you do it via (S)FTP?

    Best

It is not about how the enfold folder is called, but about the fact that as described above, this error message has come and there is a white page in the frontend as well as in the backend. In the php line 8 there is an error. and this needs to be fixed.

    Hi,
I took a look at your site and it seems to be working now, so I assume your update via ftp has solved your issue?
I couldn’t login to the backend, so if you still need help please include the admin info and the admin url.
I will assume that your ftp login is correct.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
This sounds like an error that happens when one updates via FTP and tries to overwrite the enfold folder instead of replacing the theme folder. Does this sound possible?

Please note that if you update via FTP, you will need to remove the old theme folder “enfold” first (via FTP) then upload the new “enfold” folder at /wp-content/themes/enfold/
Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors.

Please follow these steps to update to v4.5.1
*Please ensure your “PHP Max Upload Size” is at least 20mb, because Enfold is 16.7mb.
First go to your Theme Forest account and download the “Installable WordPress file only”.
    Downloading-the-wrong-zip
1: please install the plugin: Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File
    2018-10-20-104358
2: then go to WordPress > Themes > Add New > Upload
    2018-10-20-104649 2018-10-20-105401
3: after the install, click “Return to Themes page” (NOT Activate)
    2018-10-20-105705
    4: success:

    Hi,
If your new theme folder is named the same as your old theme folder was there should be no changes in your design.
So to correct try naming your new theme folder the same as your old one was, the old one should be named to something else.
The reason you should not just upload to the same folder is there may be a directory structure change within the theme folder, but the plugin above also works well.

    Best regards,
    Mike
