Hi – I’m really not a techy and looking for that quick set-up to help me get my site running. Your tutorials and videos link have a whole bunch of information (which is great), but in no particular order. I easily get overwhelmed. Is there a Start Here easy way to proceed / file or recommended order to go through things?
The first thing I read was about child themes – I understand that they’re important after reading the codex.wordpress, but that seems too complicated for level. I will want to change the font size soon (way too small throughout the theme) and I read that this used to be (may still be) a ccs function. If I want to hire someone to make those small changes (or learn to do so myself if your tutorials are very specific), is that something I can request here? How do I go about that?
Thanks.
April 7, 2015 at 4:33 pm #424795Hi dominiquehurley!
Firstly we would recommend you to go to Enfold theme options > Demo Import and import one of the demos and then start editing them. That will speed up ‘figuring out how Advanced Layout Builder works’ process.
You can find Enfold documentation here – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/ and Intro to the Advanced Layout Editor video here – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/intro-to-the-advanced-layout-editor/You do not need to use child theme if you are not going to make any changes on theme files.
You can go to Enfold theme options > Advanced Styling tab and edit elements and increase their font sizes. If there are more specific changes you would like to make, please feel free to post them here along with a link to your website and we will gladly try to help you :)
Best regards,
YigitApril 7, 2015 at 5:04 pm #424825OK Thanks Yigit- I finally found where you meant – in my WP admin panel, not your website. Found the demos to import.
Question: will importing a demo change the information that’s already on my site? Will I lose any of my old data, or it will just be reformatted? I’m not starting my website from scratch.
April 7, 2015 at 5:10 pm #424830Hi!
It will overwrite your existing Enfold theme options. New pages, posts, comments etc. will be imported to your database and you will not lose your existing content. They are saved on your database as well.
You can create a testing environment and develop your website there and then move it to your live server – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/move-from-a-local-installation-to-a-live-server/Regards,

we can’t know if importing Demo will have all the stuff you need, because we don’t know what you need ;). If the Demo is already everything you need, then you are fine. However, the Demo is really just a Demo, so it’s more a starting point and you would need to adjust things as add pages, change text/pictures, etc.
What do you mean with “post button”? you can show all your posts in your blog.

Maybe you forgot to select where to display you own menu? Select the menu you want to display then check the location at the bottom of the page, for instance Enfold Main Menu, it should then display properly.

RikardApril 9, 2015 at 2:07 pm #425924Thanks. Found it. Done. I created a new menu too. Learning so much :-)
P.S. I see on my list of posts in my accounts that one has a check mark beside it. Is there a way to say that one topic is finished/closed so I know which are still active? Thanks.
