    Greetings,

I just found out that a website I design for a client has been cloned:

    my client’s site: http://www.abramsclghorn.com

    cloned site: http://www.abramsclaghornca.com

I was hoping there was a way to block this and to prevent it from happening again. I have gathered all info on the person(s) that have done this and will be contacting DMCA and others about this. I’m looking for what can be setup in the theme or server to stop others from stealing (your theme) that I/my client have paid for. As I have researched this on the net this is a way for folks to steal themes. I do have a question, has the backend info (dash board, users, plugins and other information) been compromised?

I am reaching out in all directions on this (even my hosting company) to not only make everyone aware of this but to hopefully stop this from happening to others.

    Hey David,

It’s difficult for us to have any control over things like these unfortunately. I think your best bet is to do a DMCA report on it.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Stupid stupid stupid…

Mystery solved, the STUPID company that my client hired for SEO cloned the wrong site (something about doing it for a SEM campaign) and did not tell either myself or my client what was going on. Any way I guess this could be a heads up for all that this kind of thing can happen. Sorry for any issues this may have caused the Enfold gang.

    Regards,

    David

    Hi Guys,
Sorry for taking so long to respond (I actually forgot after I found out what happened). Sorry for all of the mess this may have caused, the folks my client hired to “make his site more popular” did this (I want to kill them for not telling us… but that is another story).

Thanks for responding to this, you can close this issue.

    Regards,

    David
