Hi
I have a website that I’m in the process of building:
http://www.sealtightgaskets.com
It based on a sisters company website:
http://www.kb-engineering.co.ukThe KB website loads much quicker that mine. Just wondered if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thank you
Gavin

The best way to optimize a WordPress site is to use a caching plugin. A plugin such as BWP Minify will help in minifying your JS / CSS as well.
Also be sure to crop / scale your images down to a reasonable filesize.
I recommend this tool, https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/, for checking your site speed.

ElliottOctober 26, 2015 at 6:24 pm #525125Thank you Elliot. I tried that plugin and it didn’t seem to have much affect but did remove my slider images on my two pages.
I’m sure there is something silly I have done because it is much slower that the sister site which is pretty similar
I’ll try the google insights

A minify/caching plugin should definitely help performance, please let us know if you should have any more questions on the topic.
Thanks,
RikardOctober 27, 2015 at 6:25 pm #525733Thank you Rikard I installed and activated W3 Total Cache and it seems to have improved it, although considering the lack of content it still seems slow. And certainly slower than the sister website.

October 27, 2015 at 6:27 pm #525734I think something else is causing the pages to load slowly?
October 28, 2015 at 4:54 pm #526284Hey!
Other than that it depends on your server connection and your internet connection. You’ll want to contact your hosting provider. Perhaps they have a better hosting package you can upgrade to.
Cheers!
