December 9, 2023 at 8:06 pm #1427642Hi,
You could try to use a search and replace plugin to replace the old URLs.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 9, 2023 at 9:00 pm #1427645I do not understand what this means.
1. Where would I find such a plug in?
2. What is ineffective about the current URLs?
3. What would I replace them with?I did purchase the newest version of this theme and could install that if it helps.
December 9, 2023 at 10:14 pm #1427656Hi,
First you should update your sites, both are built with Enfold v4.1.2 with WordPress v6.1.4
v4.1.2 in not compatible with WordPress v6+ nor PHP v8+ so you need to update to v5.6.9
Envato (Theme Forest) changed how the updates were delivered a while back so your version will not be able to update automatically, please follow these steps to manually update:
To update your version of Enfold you will need to download the latest installable WP version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.
Best regards,
MikeDecember 10, 2023 at 1:39 am #1427673They say child theme on them. Well that matter when reinstalling the new one?
December 10, 2023 at 10:48 am #1427683Hi,
I don’t understand your last reply, could you try to explain the problem you are having a bit further please?
Best regards,
RikardDecember 10, 2023 at 11:02 am #1427685When I set it up, they said to set up child themes. Im not sure the purpose. Can I disregard this instruction?
December 10, 2023 at 12:13 pm #1427688Hi,
Glad to hear that you have a child theme, but you will still need to update your parent theme so follow the instructions above and after you have updated at the last step, when it asks if you want to enable the theme, choose the option “Go to Themes page” because you don’t want to enable it because you are using a child theme.
After you update, if you are still having trouble please explain in detail how you “moved” you WordPress install from one domain to another, and a admin login to the sites might be helpful.
Are you planning to use both sites online at the same time? If so perhaps it would be easier to have only one site and point both domains to the same site so you want have two sites to post and keep updated?Best regards,
MikeDecember 12, 2023 at 11:49 pm #1427918I updated the main theme. The child theme is still active. I updated to the newest version of wordpress. I am most interested in risefresno running asap. I dont care as much about the other one. It is still broken.
December 13, 2023 at 12:16 am #1427921Hi,
Ok, so the first site that is working correctly you don’t care about, but the second site which is a copy of the first site has broken links, only the homepage works.
Please explain how you made a copy of the fist site to the second site.
If you don’t want the first site why not point your second domain to the first site? Are they both on the same server? You webhost could do that in just a couple of minutes.
It seems that your second site has a serious error, probably due to a error the “copy”Best regards,
MikeDecember 13, 2023 at 12:19 am #1427922They are not identical. I need the first domain for something else. Im not sure how the copy was done, I followed the directions that WP Engine gave.
December 13, 2023 at 12:22 am #1427923When I go into the admin page I can see all the elements that should be on the page, the pages just dont display them properly.
December 13, 2023 at 11:35 am #1427979Hi,
Can you tell us the directions that you followed?
Please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can examine.Best regards,
MikeDecember 13, 2023 at 6:45 pm #1428030It was a long time ago, but i think these are the directions. I believe the site worked fine until I went to modify portions of the pages.
December 13, 2023 at 10:42 pm #1428037Hi,
Thank you for the link to your site, I re-saved your permalinks and now the links are working, I don’t know what caused this but I see a wanning on your dashboard that your PHP is very old an you should update it.
WordPress require at least PHP v7.4, but most servers use v8 now.Best regards,
