Hi,
I have read that the lightbox now supports webp, but I still have issues several place in Enfold where it won’t display webp images but instead defaults to jpg. When will there be full support for this?
Hey Thomas Duerlund,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Yes, lightbox should be automatically applied to webp images, or automatically create a lightbox link for webp format. Where are you trying to use webp images? Are you using any builder elements?
This plugin might help.
// https://wordpress.org/plugins/webp-express/
If you are using the full screen slider, try this plugin.
// https://wordpress.org/plugins/allow-webp-image/
It adds webp support for the media uploader.
Best regards,
Ismael
Hi Ismael,
I tried that webp plugin, but I was told to remove it because it created issues with some of the elements. I use this instead: https://wordpress.org/plugins/webp-converter-for-media/
But when using that the full-screen slider still takes the jpg images. Isn’t possible to make it use the webp version instead og manually uploading a webp image?
Hi,
Sorry for the delay. It is possible that the plugin does not recognize background images, which is how the images in the full screen slider are used. You could try optimizing the images instead of using webp, or use a different slider.
Best regards,
Ismael
Hi Ismael,
I found a solution for it and now it works.
The issue was tied to Cloudflare which I really haven’t found a good setting for, so everything works as they should. Now I have just set the cache level to bypass everything.
