Dear developers,
I analyzed our websites (via http://www.seocentro.com) and I have realized that page content size of our website entry page is more than 1 MB and the the greatest parts are CSS and Javasript, not images. Please see the overview https://www.sketchengine.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/page_size.png of this analyzation or do it again for http://www.sketchengine.co.uk at http://www.seocentro.com/tools/seo/seo-analyzer-result.html

Please try using a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/ to minify the js and css files.
Best regards,

BasilisOctober 31, 2016 at 6:31 pm #706383OK, I have tried it and thought it works but the plugin cannot solve dependency plugins and modifications have already performed on the website. It does not work correctly.
Is any other possibility how to reduce the size of css and js?
I am thinking about that we use a child theme, so this theme is loaded after loading the original theme, isn’t it? Does it mean that both of themes (original and child) are loaded and therefore it doubles the size?
November 1, 2016 at 8:06 am #706588Hi,
No, if you look at the files you will see that it’s very small, if you haven’t made any customisations to it that is. A child theme only overrides the parent, it’s not added twice.
I’m not sure what you mean is not working though, if you are not happy with minification then I think you will have to delete things manually, but those changes will be back on updates unfortunately. You could also try to find what you are not using and deregister those resources in your child theme.
Best regards,
Rikard -
