I got the warning “characters might break alb…backend or frontend.” for a headline.
But the code was already in the downloaded demo, so I hadn’t changed anything and still got an error message. How can I fix it, what to do?
What else do I have to install or change in the theme so that I can enter css from support there? You used to have to unlock it with a code. How does it work nowadays?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
NicDecember 3, 2022 at 9:45 pm #1374948Hey Nic_007,
Thanks for your question, title field do not support HTML, thus the warning.
If you found this in a demo then please let us know which one so we can remove it from the demo, you should remove it from your site.
If you need a some help applying css to a title field please link to the page and explain what you want to do, but please do not add HTML or emoji’s to title fields.Best regards,
MikeDecember 4, 2022 at 2:06 pm #1375001Hey Mike,
I only changed he content, the html was ALREADY IN THE DEMO!
Homepage with link to the telephone number (I don’t know whether this tool works.
[av_heading heading=XYZXYZXYZ XYZXYZXYZ
XYZXYZ +49 (0)211/8888888
(I changed the number for this post).
I don’t know what to look out for and whether a phone call works via the website – what should I watch out for? Is the code correct?
There was already html code on the demo page that I hadn’t even edited yet, so I adjusted it that way.
If there is any other solution, please let me know.
Thank you in advance.
Many greetingsDecember 4, 2022 at 2:33 pm #1375003Hi,
I see you have another thread open and the demo is the restaurant demo, so this demo was created quite a while ago and since then we realized the issue with HTML in the title fields, I will bring this to the attention of the Dev Team.
You could use a text element instead of the special heading to achieve this. I can demonstrate if you wish.
Or if you are careful you could leave it as it is.
The danger of HTML tags in the title field is often users forget to use the closing tag and it breaks the page, if you feel sure that you won’t make this error then you can leave it this way.Best regards,

December 4, 2022 at 3:04 pm #1375008Hi Mike,
Enfold Restaurant. On the home page.No risk! I can’t rule out forgetting a tag and I can’t risk it breaking the page.
It would be nice if you send me the relevant information. I don’t want to work in a faulty demo either, everything should be set correctly, please.
Is the demo still very young so that no one has noticed that it contains html?
Thank you for your feedback.
Thanks in advanceDecember 4, 2022 at 3:52 pm #1375010Hi,
Thank you, first lets address that the restaurant demo uses the strong tag in some of the special heading fields, to correct please install our plugin Special Character Translation.Following translations can be used: ###lt### => < ###gt### => > ###amp### => & ###91### => [ ###93### =>'] ###quot### => " ###34### => '
so the strong tag will be replaced like this:
###lt###strong###gt### ... ###lt###/strong###gt###
Then change the phone link like this:
###lt###a href=tel:5551234567###gt###(555)123-4567###lt###/a###gt###
just change the number to yours
Please let us know if you have trouble with this so we can assist.Best regards,
MikeDecember 4, 2022 at 5:24 pm #1375014Thank you for the support, but unfortunately I don’t know what to do.
Should I enter ###lt###a href=tel:5551234567###gt###(555)123-4567###lt###/a###gt### in the field on the home page ? (Special Heading . Content – Heading Text)? I thought no code should go in there?
I can’t enlarge your screenshots either, then the following message appears. “The requested page could not be found.”
I ask again for more information about what the ##### is all about. Unfortunately I do not understand it.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,December 4, 2022 at 9:35 pm #1375031Hi,
Our Dev Team created a plugin to solve the issue of HTML not being allowed in the title fields, so please install the plugin which is linked above.
The plugin changes ###lt### into <
So instead of the HTML code for a phone number link add this instead:
###lt###a href=tel:5551234567###gt###(555)123-4567###lt###/a###gt###
just change the number to yours.Best regards,
MikeDecember 4, 2022 at 10:27 pm #1375036Hi,
okay, I understand. Thanks for the explanation. So should I download the file avia-special-characters_1_0_1.zip and install it in the plugin-area (upload)?
I just don’t understand why the demo theme has these errors in it and isn’t changed, but plugins ensure that the errors are eradicated again?

NicDecember 4, 2022 at 10:50 pm #1375041Hi,
It is our mistake, we recently discovered that unclosed HTML tags in the title fields was causing the theme to try to auto-correct the unclosed tags, but it didn’t always do so correctly causing some pages to crash sometimes. So the Dev Team added the warning to the title fields and created the plugin, but it seems that we didn’t catch all of the demos that had used these tags.Best regards,
