When I activate the Genesis theme , I lose all of the portfolios based on the portfolio category disappears on Genesis dashboard. They are not stored as posts or pages.
What do I do and are there any other recommendations for things to do when removing the Enfold theme from my WordPress website?
Please help and I thank you for your assistance with this matter.

Hi!
There is no registered custom post type called portfolio in the genesis theme by default so you have to convert those portfolio items to a default post before activating the genesis theme. Try this plugin:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/Note that once you convert these items to posts, every other extra options like the Additional Portfolio Settings will no longer work.
