hey,
for some reason my visual text editor is not showing up any editor options etc and the text is showing as white on a white background.
i have read a few threads about needing to be the latest update etc which my WP/Enfold is, but it’s still not working. I have also tried refreshing the page multiple times and emptying my cache
see screenshot
thanksMay 11, 2016 at 4:50 am #630371Hey arranch,

May 12, 2016 at 5:00 am #631109Hi,
I see your problem, could you try deactivating all plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict please?
Best regards,
RikardMay 12, 2016 at 11:29 pm #631691Hey Rikard
i’ve tried this and it’s still not showing. this same issue is happening for at least 3 sites I have running with Enfold
May 13, 2016 at 12:54 am #631704Hi,
I noticed that the browser tries to load the text editor but it is forbidden from doing so. Since this happens for the default editor as well would you mind trying to activate the wordpress default theme and see if the issue persists? (If thats the case its more likely that the file either is missing on your server or that the permission of the file is set wrong.)
Just want to make sure that its really theme related :)
Best regards,
KriesiMay 13, 2016 at 10:03 am #631951Hey Kriesi
just to check before i activate the standard theme, will the website be exactly how i left it when i reactivate the Enfold theme?
As far as i can remember, this issue has appeared after the wp doing an automatic update to the version before last.
May 13, 2016 at 10:59 am #631981Hi!
Yes, all enfold data is still stored in your database, even if the theme is deactivated. Once enfold is activated again the site will look like before ;)
Regards,
KriesiMay 16, 2016 at 10:58 pm #633357ok, i just tried this out, and no, the text editor doesn’t work on the 2016 theme either.
what would you suggest I do to solve this?
May 16, 2016 at 11:31 pm #633370Hey!
Please try re-installing WordPress and check if that helps. Some files might be corrupted while updating.
Best regards,
YigitMay 16, 2016 at 11:36 pm #633373i’ve just tried reinstalling the update, but the same is happening still
May 19, 2016 at 3:06 am #634858Hi,
We found these errors in the console but we’re not sure what’s causing them:
ttp://lp.leachs.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.php?c=1&ver=4310-20160418 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) post-new.php:2790 Uncaught ReferenceError: tinymce is not defined wp-langs-en.js:235 Uncaught ReferenceError: tinyMCE is not defined post-new.php?post_type=page:2785 Uncaught ReferenceError: tinymce is not defined
Is this working when you switch to another browser? I’m currently checking the editor on Chrome, Windows 7.
Also, try to rename the .htaccess file temporarily while all plugins are deactivated.
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 19, 2016 at 9:57 pm #635558I had the same issue and just solved it amazingly by only pushing the button with the stripes!

May 19, 2016 at 10:01 pm #635562Hey Henk
which button exactly are you referring to?
May 19, 2016 at 11:19 pm #635595On the Visual Text editor the second from above on the right side.
May 19, 2016 at 11:25 pm #635597hmmm i don’t seem to have this button – see the screenshot above as what I’m seeing
May 20, 2016 at 10:26 am #635811Oh I see. I am using the Firefox browser and installed the Enfold theme with ftp, updates also.
May 20, 2016 at 10:33 am #635814i have tried viewing this on firefox, but it still looks the same to me – could you share a screenshot? also, this issue is happening for me on some of my websites, but not others, even if they have the same updates/plugins
May 20, 2016 at 6:02 pm #635999Maybe you updatedf Enfold on one site with ftp and on another site from the backend? With ftp I think is the best.
Sorry I have no probable solutions anymore.May 21, 2016 at 4:54 am #636128Hi,
We would like to check the dashboard again but the login credentials you provided are not working any more. Did you remove it? Please add it again so that we can check it again. Please try to get a fresh copy of WordPress then override the wp-includes and wp-admin folder.

IsmaelMay 31, 2016 at 3:57 pm #640959My default editor is not working with Enfold 3.5.4 EXCEPT when I begin a new page. I am able to see the text editor only the first time i click on it. After that, the text editor goes away and doesn’t come back. With demo pages, I’m never able to see the default editor.
Two weeks ago, I began development with a new copy of WordPress, and I purchased a brand new version of Enfold 2. Version 3.5.4. The problems have existed since the beginning of this process.
I cache constantly. I read in a thread that I should check what version of style.css I have. Can’t figure out how to do that.
I have only one plugin loaded: Akismet.
Just having recommended this theme to two of my clients, it now seems like a difficult way to use WordPress, particularly for those of us who are not advanced Enfold users. That said, I hope to continue to be one of your biggest fans!
Any help would be very appreciated.
June 1, 2016 at 7:06 am #641262Hi,
The builder is displaying fine on my end, I checked your Company page. Please try following this guide: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/my-enfold-layout-builder-is-not-loading-properly/
Thanks,

June 1, 2016 at 4:21 pm #641588Hello
If I replace the theme with a new download of the enfold theme, obviously this will overwrite any edits I’ve made to the coding, but what about the content of the site, ie pages etc? are these stored under the theme or are these stored in a different directory?
thanks
ArranJune 2, 2016 at 7:14 am #641870Hi @arranch,
It should not remove any of your settings or pages/posts as they are stored in the database. But make sure you do a full backup of the site before attempting this as a security measure in case something should go wrong in the process.

IsmaelFebruary 26, 2019 at 9:12 pm #1071987Hello. I saw that you are having the same issue as I have. I too cannot edit pages since I updated to the latest version of Enfold and WordPress. I even have the classic plugin enabled. The JavaScript console in Firefox is throwing errors related to tinymce and $.aviamodal for starters.. Please look at my forum post for more information on the console errors and troubleshooting steps taken thus far. It is all in there. Of course I am happy to assist. Thanks!! https://kriesi.at/support/topic/javascript-errors-resulting-in-pages-not-editable/
February 27, 2019 at 12:20 am #1072056I really have no idea why I am getting all of these ty[e errors, reference errors and syntax errors in the console when loading the edit page. tinymce is not defined over and ovr, string literal contains an unescaped line break, aviaModal is undefined, component returned failure code……
Please help!
