There are some WISYWIG plugins but I’m not sure they will work with this text block.
I would not recommend going for the previous versions of Enfold either.
How complex do your texts need to be in terms of HTML?

I am not sure why you’re getting such results. You can always give a special class to that text box and adjust that formatting via CSS. It is actually a better way to do it, a cleaner way.
