    Hi,

    I’ve used a video (vimeo) background in a colour section on a site which works fine in Chrome and Firefox but not IE or Safari. IE leaves the background black and safari displays a nasty ‘shucks’ message.

    Is there something I can do to make it play across all browers?

    And if not, is there a way I can make it default to displaying a fixed image?

    I had the same problem and fixed it by changing this setting in Safari/advanced/preferences:

    “This is really a problem between Safari and Youtube. Please try to switch OFF the point in Safari Preferencess > Advanced > Stop plug-ins to save power”

    I guess this was a default setting.
