Hi – I’ve never had trouble putting in a youtube url. The video appears just fine in the blog post or page.
Now that I’ve created a lead page, I’m hoping to upload a video directly to my site so that, at the end of the video, there’s not all that distracting YouTube stuff that attracts my visitors off my site and to another YouTube video. This is for http://www.dominiquehurley.com/sign-up-5-steps-activate-intuition/
2 issues.
1) I tried uploading a video that was was big but under teh limit. It started uploading (in the media window – little blue bar starting to move) and then would stop.
2) I uploaded a short video on a different day and that worked to get it in the media library. But then on my page it appeared as an active url, not a video. I used the video media thing in the Avia Layout Builder. My file is an mp4 . Not sure if that’s the issue.
Is this normal? Is there a way to get a movie up on the site without YouTube so that everyone can see it? (vs. only those who have a viewer for mp4 on their computer – I remember with audio I had lots of fans unable to listen to my audios until I learned I had to convert to mp3).
Thank you.
October 19, 2016 at 9:27 am #701077Hi dominiquehurley!
Thank you for using Enfold.
What is the compression of the mp4 video? Make sure that it is H.264 because major browsers support this compression. And increase the upload limit value.

Cheers!
IsmaelOctober 19, 2016 at 1:38 pm #701278Thanks Ismael. I’m not sure how to figure that out in iMovie, but even for my short video, it only showed a link on my post, not the video. Is that normal? If I type in a url from youtube, it shows the video. If I use the media library and upload a super short mp4 video (iMovie -> save file), then it shows a link instead of the video in my post. Is that because it’s an mp4 or something else?
October 20, 2016 at 8:55 am #701740Hey!
Are you adding the video link directly in the editor? Please use the theme’s video shortcode or put it in iframe. The following video is not mp4.
// http://www.dominiquehurley.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/GAC-booklet-view.movWe added an mp4 video (http://www.dominiquehurley.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/bikebike.mp4) and embedded it using the theme’s video shortcode.

UPDATE: These are free converter softwares that you can use.

IsmaelOctober 20, 2016 at 12:55 pm #701831Hi Ismael, I should have asked to test on a new Page, not post as now all my subscribers received your Test Video message. I deleted that post. Please don’t test on posts.
I had used the uploader / shortcode or Avia. I didn’t use the link unless it was from YouTube, which is how I had to go.
How did you get your mp4 to load?
Yes, that one is .mov . Is that a problem? The original one I tried working with is an mp4. I just tried re-uploading it and go t a413 message – entitity too large. It;s 158 MB and the uploader tells me the maximum is 10GB. I don’t remember that message last time, but haven’t been able to upload them. It’s just a 1 minute vdeo. Even my 75-minute one was under 10GB, but wouldn’t upload.
Thanks for the converter links. Good to have.
October 22, 2016 at 12:52 am #702703Hi,
I’m sorry about the posts. The problem with the .mov video format is that it’s not supported across all browsers. You should use third party hosts such as youtube or video for your videos. Here’s why:

IsmaelOctober 22, 2016 at 1:53 pm #702820Thank you. That’s very helpful. I’ll keep it on YouTube and add a longer white screen at the end so that they take my call to action before clicking on one of YouTube’s invitations.
Case closed.

IsmaelOctober 25, 2016 at 10:14 am #703698Hi Isamel! I should know there’s a plugin for everything. Fantastic. I couldn’t remember where/what a functions.php file is, but I followed Yigit’s advice in the other link;
“Hi!Please try using this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/hide-youtube-related-videos/
@guenni007 thanks for your help :)Best regards,
Yigit”And it worked. No more videos or anything else at the end. Thank you so much!
