I’ve added video to my portfolio as part of a slider, and would like to include a similar feature on my home page. I’ve noticed from some of the older threads that video isn’t supported in mobile? This was one of the reasons I went with the Enfold theme.
I have put image fall backs, with link that opens the youtube video, but it looks clumsy with the lightbox popping up.
I have seen other users ask for help and now they are able to display video … can someone help me? I’m a novice, so put it in simple terms, please.
Thanks!

Have you tried using a LayerSlider instead? you can place a YouTube embed there as a layer that will show and play in mobile devices.

JosueJanuary 31, 2016 at 6:18 pm #575343No that doesn’t work either in my site at least it doesn’t… I looks as if it’s gonna work, but when I want to play the embedded video in the layerslider it doesnt start, it just has a waiting hourglass…

can you please provide us with a backend access and with the video you are using for mobile?

BasilisJanuary 31, 2016 at 8:34 pm #575406Hi Basilis,
Sure, I don’t have a special video for mobile btw, I just made a layer in the layerslider of the page called ‘homepage’ with a video in it.
On my iPad it doesnt start the video although it is visible.January 31, 2016 at 10:13 pm #575433Thanks Josue. I tried the LayerSlider and embedded the video as you suggest. Works great on laptop, but I get the same result as vossenm … on the iPad, it spins like it’s loading … message says “If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device.” I tried a restart, no luck. Just spins.
February 1, 2016 at 7:22 pm #575974I’m having a similar issue with getting a video to play on mobile. I’m OK with the mobile being a fall back image with a lightbox for the video. The problem I’m having is the desktop site wants the full width video to be click to play (as it needs sound, but I don’t want to autoplay with sound), but this both starts the full video AND launches a lightbox over the top of it that play. Is there a way to only apply the lightbox when on a mobile device?
Thanks,
Rob

February 3, 2016 at 6:21 pm #577235Thanks for your response Basilis. My videos are contained in the Portfolio section.
February 3, 2016 at 9:11 pm #577349Figured out a workaround solution … I simply used a VIDEO element, instead of one of the sliders. Not sure if this will have any limits, but so far, so good.
