    On my site I have a video as my first slider in my full width easy slider (top of page below navigation) but the video does not play, it only shows the fallback image.

    Hey navindesigns,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    This might be an issue with the Nginx server configuration. Please ask your hosting provider if the server supports mp4 videos or streaming. They might have to reconfigure the server a bit.

    So it worked before for like a week or so then it stopped working.

    Is that still a server issue?

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

    We are not really sure if this is a server issue but it looks the site cannot load the video because the server is not accepting ranges of bytes, which is required for streaming. Please check your nginx configuration and update it based on the following discussion.

    We also got this error just today.

    Did you add anything like that in the theme, maybe in the functions.php file?

    Unfortunately, my host siteground could not figure it out either

    Here is their response

    “The video still does not play on my side which appears to be caused by the speed optimisation options of the theme itself. I tried clearing the site and server caches to see if that helps but to no avail. I would suggest reaching out to the developers/support of the theme directly since they are the most familiar with their product and would be able to provide the best solution to the issue”

    Any other ideas?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your patience, I copied your page to my test site and the video plays correctly, please see the link below.
    I see on your page you are getting a Mixed Content warnings so I tried testing the Really Simple SSL plugin but this didn’t help, I believe that if you fix the Mixed Content warnings the video should play like on my test site. I don’t have a siteground account so I’m not sure if they have host options to correct this.

    Hi,
    Strange that the video is still not playing, I’m not sure why this is but it doesn’t seem to be related to the theme since it is working on my test site.
    Did you try Ismael’s Nginx suggestion about asking your hosting provider if the server supports mp4 videos or streaming?
