hi all,
I’m setting up a website with lots of MP4 ‘s, using the great Enfold. The video’s are locally hosted and displayed using the standard video element.
Everything works fine on any browser on Apple. In windows browsers they only seem to work properly in Chrome.
In Edge and IE they flicker in the beginning and sometimes they just disappear or even don’t show. Sometimes even the controls don’t show. So it seems to be a browser problem, but how can I solve this. Thanks in advance
WoutskiDecember 26, 2015 at 5:56 pm #557454Hey Woutski!
I’m not experiencing any issues on IE or edge on my end.
Did you resolve them on your end? If not, are there any specific portfolio items that consistently has an issue when viewed in IE or edge?

DakeDecember 28, 2015 at 11:28 am #557653Hi Dake,
No, I did not find a solution yet. I did check it on quit a few brand new windows 10 PC’s in Explorer 11 and Edge and on tablets.
There is this problem on all of these. All the portfolio items have the problem. If I take the URL of a video the video is displayed well. So it seems not to be a fault in the video.I placed two examples on webstroom.net/Dake of what I see. Sometimes it works but when I do a page refresh I get one of the xamples.
Thank you in advance,
Woutski
December 28, 2015 at 4:14 pm #557739Hi Dake, I might have the solution. It seems that something was wrong at the host. Probably a php version problem.
I have to check things in IE11.Thank you for thinking with me

YigitDecember 31, 2015 at 10:28 am #558686Hey Yigit and Jake,
The problem is still there :-( The check I did was on a laptop and everything worked fine in edge. Now I checked thing out on any windows machine that’s is available (library, friends, stores). Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Even PC’s with the same versions for both Windows and Edge give opposite results. That’s probably why Jake did not see it. I’m still very pleased with Enfold and I think it is a great theme. Hopefully we will find a solution soon. Another thing is that the pagination in the latest version of WP does not work
For now Happy New Year and I hope to hear from you soon.

It looks like your using Enfold 3.0.4. You’ll need to update to the latest version, 3.4.7. That will fix the pagination issue.
I’m on Windows 10 and I checked on Edge and IE11 but it looks the same to me in all browsers. Can you take a screenshot of what your seeing?
Cheers!
ElliottJanuary 4, 2016 at 9:15 am #559061Thank you Elliott,
I updated to 3.4.7 and indeed pagination works fine.
According the display in IE11 and Edge I placed some screendumps on http://www.webstroom.net/Dake.
The first frames of the video have a picture. I want the see the picture off course. Sometimes it shows the picture and sometimes it does not.
When I do a page refresh sometimes it disappears (black background c.q. white background)and sometimes appears wilt the picture from the first frame.Thank you in advance
January 4, 2016 at 10:24 pm #559537Hey!
I checked the video issue in IE and attached the below screenshot
I don’t see any problem with the video on the website it looks good and played fine.
I suggest to you to update your browser or video codecs in your system and check it out.Best regards,
VinayJanuary 5, 2016 at 9:08 pm #560128Thank you Vinay,
Strange. I checked it many, many times on loads of PC’s and it is always the same as I explained before and like the illustrations at
http://www.webstroom.net/Dake. Strange that in the mayby 20 Pc’s that I checked I always have the the same problem. Even with mp4 examples from www3school. If I want to embed the videos from Youtube is there then any possibillity to ad parameters to the URL?
Something like https://www.youtube.com/v/gj6iS53GMOA?&loop=1&autoplay=1&autohide=1&controls=1&modestbranding=1&rel=0&showinfo=0Thanks in advance

January 7, 2016 at 7:10 am #561020Hi!
Yes you can play using youtube on and set to do not display ads. there are several awesome ways you can set youtube videos without ads. If you search for “custom youtube player” or “youtube video parameters” you get all the options that you are looking for. By hosting on youtube you save a lot of bandwidth and your videos stream faster and don’t have to worry about browser compatibility as youtube encodes all videos in a way that all browsers can play it. hope this helps.
Cheers!
VinayJanuary 7, 2016 at 10:25 am #561089Hoi Vinay
I tried that and when I am using such URL above(https://www.youtube.com/v/gj6iS53GMOA?&loop=1&autoplay=1&autohide=1&controls=1&modestbranding=1&rel=0&showinfo=0) Enfold’s media element “video” does not accept it. Placing it in a iframe means that it does not work on tablets and telephones. And yeah Enfold is of course a responsive theme. What can I do to get such URL in the video element?
January 8, 2016 at 12:32 pm #561908Hey!
Hey your login details are not working but to add a youtube video the easiest way is to just drag a text box and add a simple youtube link such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj6iS53GMOA
You can find it in Advance Layout builder > Content Elements > Text Box

VinayJanuary 8, 2016 at 1:41 pm #561946Hey Vinay
There was a typo in the URL you need to log in. In the private content you’ll find the correct login credentials. Of course I know I can ad a video in Advance Layout builder > Content Elements > Text Box, but that gives the same results as just using the video in Advance Layout builder > Media Elements > Video. That works fine when I don’t ad parameters to the URL.
BUT the question was and still is wheather it is possible to add paramaters to the URL. Is it in anyway possible to use the URL below including the parameters in Enfold
https://youtube.com/watch?v=gj6iS53GMOA%3F%26loop%3D1%26autoplay%3D1%26autohide%3D1%26controls%3D1%26modestbranding%3D1%26rel%3D0%26showinfo%3D0Thanks in advance,

January 11, 2016 at 7:26 am #562936Hi!
By default wordpress only support the regular youtube link. When you use the extra parameters on youtube link wordpress treats it as a URL or link. This has nothing to do with any of the wordpress themes that you use.
However what you are trying to achieve can be done using a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/embedplus-for-wordpress/ on the wordpress plugin directory you can find more such plugins with different features. i recommend that you take a look at it and choose the one that best suit your needs.

VinayJanuary 11, 2016 at 3:21 pm #563205Thanks Vinay,
Thank you for the solution! Took some time to find the right plugin because they do not all work in Enfold but I found YouTube Embed by Codedart.
and works great. Thank you for the support.Regards Woutski
