Hi there. I’ve problems with videos in background on layerslider that won’t open/autoplay on safari ios. They play fine on other devices/browsers but on safari ios. What could it be?
    Thanks.

    Hey amministrazione187,
This is a safari ios limitation, they block this and there is no way we can override it, you sould consider a different layout.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Thanks for the answer, Mike. Is there any other component (instead of layerslider7) that I can use for having a full width video in a page with muted autoplay working even on safari ios?

    Hi,
You can try other plugins, perhaps they will have a specific hack for ios, but often these don’t last long as with each update ios tries to block these.

Thank you Mike again for you support. I’ve tried the solution you gave me: now the “play button” is clickable but it doesn’t load/play the video neither the autoplay starts.

    Hi,
I assume that you are referring to the girl in white on the steps, when I check I don’t see a play button and the video is playing, but I only have a Android and you said the issue is only on iPhone, correct? check the LayerSlider settings again to ensure both setting were saved correctly. Your video is very short, so you may want to try changing it into a gif for mobile devices, I believe that gif are not blocked by ios on mobile.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi there,
yes, that’s the video i’m talking about. Correct: the problem is only on ios with safari. layerslider settings are correct: I started from scretch. I don’t think I can make a gif for that video.. it’s not so short.. It’s weird becase with the old structure (PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript) the videos were fine even on safari ios. If you don’t have any other solution, I think I have to look for another plugin.
    Thanks again

    Hi,
Perhaps another plugin will work for ios better, sorry that I don’t have any better ideas.

    Best regards,
    Mike
