Hi, is there a way to use the advanced layout editor for posts?
Whenever I try to use this, it breaks some of the funtionality of the posts such as the related posts section and the main image disappears from the post, it is still visable on the excerpt though.

Thank you for using Enfold.
The posts are going to use a different template when you switch to the advance layout builder. This new template contains nothing and will only render content from the advance layout builder. You get to add every elements manually. For the related section, you can use posts elements such as the blog posts or the magazine element to display posts from the same category.

I guess what we really are asking for is to have the standard editor’s “heading” with Featured image, Title and date. Then still be able to use the advanced layout editor (ALE) underneath. I have seen the solution to use the standard editor and then insert the ALE elements using the magic wand. This works, but is not very user friendly for the editor.
Is there any shortcodes to retriev the featured image, title and date for the current post? In that case we could use the advanced layout editor and create a “hearting” section as a template containing those three shortcodes.
September 4, 2018 at 8:07 am #1005314Hi,
That is not possible, unfortunately. You will have to use the default editor if you want to display the default post elements such as featured image, post meta info etc.

IsmaelJuly 6, 2019 at 2:44 am #1116130This is often an issue for clients, in my experience — the inconsistency between posts created with the Default Editor vs the ALE — are there any plans to include an option, perhaps, for including the elements automatically added to Default posts (title, meta, featured image, share buttons, excerpt) in posts created with the ALE, so they’ll be consistent on the front end? It’s one thing asking clients to add the excerpt and share buttons manually, but how, for example, would I ask them to add the meta info manually?
Thanks!

That’s the point when using the Advanced Layout Builder you get the clean slate and add whatever you need to build pages and you can use the Advanced Layout Builder to build posts but using the magic wand tool when using the Default editor. You just need to stick to one editor more or less to make posts.

July 8, 2019 at 1:45 pm #1116657Hi,
You can create a custom shortcode for it as described in the following thread.
Let us know if that helps.

IsmaelJuly 9, 2019 at 12:12 am #1116796Right, thanks, I’was just asking if there were any plans to add this as an option in the theme — it’s a problem/question I run into often with clients.
July 9, 2019 at 2:30 pm #1117068Hi,
There is no plan on adding it in the theme, unfortunately. Please use the custom shortcode that we provided in the previous thread.
