I am trying to add a page link to a textbox. I click on the “chain” in to tool bar … go to options and select the page I wish to link to, click on ADD LINK button and when I do, the link text physically shows up in the text box (see image below) and the link does not work.

(Try with Adult Bibs” on first row)

BTW … THIS IS AN INTERMITTANT PROBLEM .. IT WILL WORK ONCE OR TWICE AND THEN THIS ERROR WILL OCCUR. SOMETIMES IT NEVER WORKS .. SOMETIME IT WORKWS ON FIRST FEW TIMES AND THEN WHEN i TRY ONCE MORE, IT FAILS AS SHOWN.

    Please help ..

    Hi Alan,

Where can see and reproduce the problem you are having? I see that you included a password to your site, but I can’t see a user name?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I checked the page in private, but I’m not sure how to reproduce the problem you are having? Please provide us with step by step instructions.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

    Here is another example …

To reproduce this error, do the following steps.

    1. Click Pages
    2. Edit HOME page
3.Edit TEA TOWELS (near bottom on right)
    4. Click the Chain to add the link from this image
    5. Click OPTIONS
    6. Select “Tea Towels” from the list (should be top one)
    7. Click INSERT LINK
    8. Click Save and Update
    9. Run embroiderforyou.biz

    IMGUR JPG = https://imgur.com/UD7ZQpQ

Notice the result I get from the above IMGUR image. The link is actually displayed in character fom above the image. The link is in those characters and there is no link in the image. Erase the characters and the link disappears. ‘Ive used those steps with great success until now. Now, sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. In the example above, I have never gotten it to work.

Also fails on Adult Bibs too.

Hope you can reproduce it or at least point me in the right direction.

    Regards,

    Alan

PS. Notice also ..”Tea Towels” and “”Adult Bibs” images do not align with others .. why? …or is it same issue?

    Hi Alan,

Thanks for the instructions. So you are looking to add a link to the image? If so, then please try to mark the image first, then click the Pen icon to bring up the edit menu. You can add a link and a custom URL in there: https://snipboard.io/drBem1.jpg

    Rikar,

Did you do the steps I outlined above .. what was your result?

YES, your method works …. THANK YOU.

However, I have a programmer’s curiosity Rikar .. .I have ALWAYS used the method I described in the steps I outlined before and added the URL to the textbox and it has always worked and sometimes still does. Shouldn’t I be able to add a URL link to a text box as well as an image? What has changed that has caused me such dismay over the last few months?

At least I can now get my work done but I am stll befuddled!

BTW .. still have the alignment issue with the image on the home page. SEE TEA TOWELS . please help.

    Hi Alan,

I’m not sure exactly what you have done before, but it sounds like you have always added a text link, and that should not add a link to images. I fixed the Tea Towel alignment, your markup was a bit different in that text block, compared to the others.

    Thank You Rikar .

I never noticed the pulldown which allowed you to enter the link … I was always trying to add it in developer options and it never worked.

.I am convinced that your method is the right way to add a link to an image. I will do it his way from now on.
