Tagged: .htaccess
As we draw near the release on our newly designed website with the Enfold theme I realized I may have an issue of multiple .htaccess files.
My current LIVE site in in the root directory. Example: http://www.mydomain.com/
I’m building my new Enfold designed website in a subdirectory on my shared server with GoDaddy. Example: http://www.mydomain.com/enfoldsite
Once I’m done with all the edits I plan to move the wordress site into the root directory.
I have a VERY active and valuable .htaccess file in my root directory that contains zillions of forwards for my official site that I need.
MY PROBLEM: I noticed that the WordPress installation has an .htaccess file in it as well.
What is my solution so my original .htaccess file is not over written? Is there a way to combine the 2 .htaccess files?
Any help will be appreciated.
Hey!
I’d suggest merging the WordPress .htaccess with your root .htaccess, just copy the block that starts with # BEGIN WordPress
.

Hi!
Leave the WordPress part (# BEGIN WordPress … # END WordPress) at top and the redirections below.
