Until one of the last two updates buttons containing our vimeo links opened perfectly fine in a lightbox. Now they suddenly stopped doing that and instead seem to redirect to the external page. This causes error messages on all our demo videos because they are not allowed to be viewed externally for legal reasons. The buttons look like this:
[av_button label='Video ansehen' link='manually,https://player.vimeo.com/139962191' link_target='' size='medium' position='left' icon_select='yes-right-icon' icon_hover='aviaTBicon_hover' icon='uf04b' font='fontawesomeregular' color='custom' custom_bg='#00abef' custom_font='#fafaf5' custom_class='']
Strangely we do have one vimeo link in an icon which continues to open the video in a lightbox just fine. The icon code looks like this:
[av_font_icon icon='uf04b' font='fontawesomeregular' style='' caption='' link='manually,https://player.vimeo.com/140062646' link_target='' size='80px' position='center' color='00abef' custom_class=''][/av_font_icon]
Can you please help us to fix this as soon as possible. We are already receiving messages from customers that they are not able to watch the videos. Thank you very much.
November 23, 2015 at 6:17 pm #541081Hi zerodi!
I am getting “Permission Denied” error. Can you please make sure that videos are public?
Cheers!
YigitNovember 25, 2015 at 6:51 pm #542638You get permission denied when doing what? Or do you mean the “Oops the embed code for the video is not valid.” message.
I cannot make the videos public as I explained above. The videos are allowed to be embedded on our domain though which worked perfectly until recently. It still works for the showreel (play button at the top of the page). Only the links in the ajax portfolio seem to redirect to the external page instead of opening the lightbox as they did before. This causes the error message because the videos are not to be viewed outside of our domain.I already checked with the vimeo settings and everything seems to be fine there. Unless I’m missing something this seems to be a problem with enfold redirecting to the vimeo page instead of opening the lightbox, but maybe I’m wrong?!
November 25, 2015 at 10:11 pm #542725Hi!
can you please disable the rest of the plugins you are running and let us know if on a clear site it works right?
Regards,
BasilisNovember 25, 2015 at 11:48 pm #542780I tried with all plugins disabled. No change. Other people obviously had the same problem (see here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/images-with-lightbox-feature-to-play-vimeo-not-working/ ) and as far as I can see this was not resolved so far.
Just to make sure I tested if the videos are playing if I directly embed them as a video element or with the official embed code from vimeo. The videos work and play back without a problem. Our buttons though (with manual link pattern https://vimeo.com/xxxxxx or https://player.vimeo.com/xxxxxx) are not opening the lightbox anymore but redirect directly to vimeo.com. This is not how this was working before and now breaks our video links. The error message Yigit was seeing is expected and intended. Outside of our domain the videos are blocked due to legal reasons.
This is really pretty embarrassing. Please have another look at this. Thank you.
November 26, 2015 at 11:16 pm #543437I found another topic that might be related. Is this maybe the same bug/problem? This also point to problems with lightbox in ajax portfolios. That would explain why our links outside the ajax portfolio work but the others not. see topic here:
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/portfolio-ajax-lightbox-problem/
have a good one.

November 27, 2015 at 10:13 am #543507And some more investigation. I just copied the exact code of one of the buttons with non-working vimeo links from the ajax portfolio to another part of the page (outside of the ajax portfolio) and guess what: lightbox opens and video plays. So I guess it’s safe to say that there was some kind of bug introduced with lightbox inside ajax portfolio elements with one of the last two updates.
December 1, 2015 at 1:37 pm #545140Hey!
you are right and Kriesi is already aware of this. He told me that he is searching for a fix right now. Hopefully he can implement it in a future update as soon as possible. Thanks for being patient.
Cheers!
AndyDecember 9, 2015 at 9:04 am #549552hi,
the last update was supposed to fix the lightbox redirects. unfortunately on our site the problem remains unchanged. vimeo links from ajax portfolios still redirect to the vimeo page. all caches disabled and links double checked. same buttons work just fine outside of the ajax portfolio.
December 9, 2015 at 12:11 pm #549629Hi!
not sure if Kriesi could already find a fix for this issue. Are you using Enfold v3.4.6? Can you provide us admin access, so we can have a deeper look into it please? post login details here as private reply.
Cheers!
AndyDecember 15, 2015 at 9:10 am #552852hello andy,
I assumed is was fixed because of the release notes:
2015 December 6th – Version 3.4.5 - fixed: an error with the lightbox not working on ajax portfolio items
Enfold is fully updated. Vimeo links outside of the Ajax Portfolio play just fine in a lightbox. Inside the ajax portfolio though links get redirected to vimeo site. In our case this causes an error message because of the privacy settings of the videos linked. The code of the buttons (see posts above) is tested outside of the Ajax Portfolio and works as intended there. This also happens with all plugins and caching disabled.
December 15, 2015 at 12:54 pm #552973Hey!
this was a different fix. Kriesi is still working to find a fix for your issue. Thanks for being patient!
Best regards,
