I have followed the guidance in the article but now I’m left with the Enfold psd.zip file in the Themes root directory and “broken links: stylesheet missing” errors.How do I resolve this?

You should upload enfold.zip file inside /wp-content/ folder via file manager and then unzip it. It seems like you are uploading PSD files instead of theme files – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/install-enfold-theme/#install-vianbspcpanel :)
If you need assistance installing the theme, please create temporary admin logins and post them here privately along with your license so we can install the theme for you :)
