Hi, I have received an email advising of the update.
I am using a child theme and I added the API to the theme but it is telling me that version 3.6.1 is the latest update.
How do I update automatically the main theme?
Many thanks.
August 15, 2016 at 2:43 pm #672665Hey snute2008,
Please try this plugin to clear WordPress transients if you do not receive auto updates and make sure your API key is correct: https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/.
If it does not help, I am afraid you might need to update the theme manually – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Unfortunately not all Server environments are able to make use of the auto update feature provided by ThemeForest :/
Best regards,
YigitAugust 15, 2016 at 2:51 pm #672668Thanks, I have tried the plugn but that did not help.
I have added the API to the child theme, have I done this wrong? do I need to update the main theme if using the child theme? and if so how do I do that please.
August 15, 2016 at 2:58 pm #672674Hey!
If you cleaned transients and if your API key is correct, it should have worked fine.
Could you please try updating the parent theme manually via FTP – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/?Regards,
YigitAugust 15, 2016 at 3:10 pm #672689OK I have updated the main parent theme. When looking at the Child Theme options under “Theme Update” it still shows 3.6.1 is that correct?
August 15, 2016 at 3:11 pm #672692Hi!
That should not happen. Could you please create a temporary admin login and post it here privately so we can look into it?
Best regards,
YigitAugust 15, 2016 at 3:13 pm #672697OK details below. Thank you for your help.
August 15, 2016 at 3:24 pm #672707Hi!
It does not seems like you have updated the parent theme. Please check out update via FTP video in the link i posted and try updating once again. And make sure that you are uploading the latest version 3.7.1 that you can download from ThemeForest under Downloads section
Cheers!
YigitAugust 15, 2016 at 3:30 pm #672715Hi, thanks for taking a look. Before raising this issue I had gone to Themeforest and downloaded a zip file “themeforest-4519990-enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme.zip”
Then from the “version.txt” file I uploaded the following into the wp-content/themes/enfold folder
Folders & Files to update:
– lang
– framework/php
– css
– js
– config-woocommerce
– config-wpml
– config-templatebuilder
– functions-enfold.phpAugust 19, 2016 at 4:24 am #674453Hi,
You have to update every theme files, not just those listed in the version.txt file.
Best regards,
IsmaelAugust 19, 2016 at 12:16 pm #674705Your instruction video on updating manually refers to only uploading the files mentioned in the version.txt file plus the version.txt file clearly says “folders and file to update”
Also, is there an updated child them please.
August 21, 2016 at 9:44 pm #675440Hi,
You can download pre-built child theme here – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/
Also, child them does not need updating. You should only update parent theme.Best regards,
