I have a client on an old install of Enfold (v1.8.4) that has lots of existing content on pages that we set up to use the template function on your editor. Obviously, that function seems to have disappeared once they uploaded to 3.8. We created some literature based on that version as to how to update various portions by utilizing these templates on your editor for them to do so.
My concern that I hope you can dispell, is that updating the theme will cause me a loss in content or functionality in how it currently appears. Is this a justifiable worry? Am I able to upload to the current version with no ill effects? I saw your FTP upload video and feel confident I can do that, I just want to know if I should expect problems after doing so and be able to communicate that to them.
For reference sake you can view at http://www.PeoriaFlag.com if necessary. Thanks in advance for the help and happy new year!
Hi gainlight!
If you have not made any changes on theme files and did not change the theme name, then you should not worry. Your content is saved on your database and theme options will remain the same as long as theme names are matching.
If you have made changes on theme files and using a child theme ( you can find more information on child theme here http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/ ) you do not need to worry about it as well.
You can find more information on updating the theme here http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Thanks and happy new year to you too
