Hello,
After updating the plugins for a rarely used site, LayerSliderWP broke and gives a jQuery error, even though the latest version of jQuery is installed. The guys at LayerSlider said I should talk to you about getting the plugin updated, since it came bundled with Enfold.
Please advise.
Kind regards,
LasseJanuary 12, 2016 at 3:01 am #563629Hi Desdichado!
So it happened after you updated some plugins? What happens when you deactivate all of your plugins?
Best regards,
ElliottJanuary 12, 2016 at 4:02 pm #563935Yeah, I updated the (very few) plugins that are there;
* Custom Facebook Feed
* SendPress Newsletters
* Terapeut Booking
* jQuery UpdaterDeactivating all these plugins changes nothing. I’m sure it has to do with LayerSliderWP being a very old version, which should be updated. But I’m just not sure how to update it, since it’s not present on the plugins page?
This is the error LayerSliderWP gives:
LayerSlider: old jQuery issue
It looks like you are using an old version (1.11.3) of the jQuery library. LayerSlider requires at least version 1.7.0 or newer. If you are using the WordPress version of LayerSlider, you can try out the “jQuery Updater” plugin from the WP plugin depository. If you don’t know what to do, you can write us a private message from our CodeCanyon profile page. We need a temporary WP admin account (or a temporary FTP account in some cases) to solve this issue.Even though the error says we’re using v1.11.3 of jQuery, that’s incorrect and it’s actually a bug in LayerSliderWP, according to the authors. So that needs to be updated.

Please send us a temporary admin login so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

RikardJanuary 14, 2016 at 11:45 am #565328Apparently a new version of the plugin jQuery Updater was just released. And updating this plugin (again) solved the problem. I therefore believe that the issue was related to that specific plugin.
So no need to do anything on your part, after all. Thanks for the replies!
