Hi Guys,
I have as many others promblem with my editor, it does not load and I can’t edit any of my products etc.
from reading other threads I have understood that the first thing I am supposed to do is to upgrade to the latest version,
as I have done quite a job customizing my theme
I wonder if I use the export theme settings file, then update the theme and then importing the file, will all my changes be installed in the new version?Stupid as I am I have not used a child theme, do you have a guide for creating a child theme to a already modified version?
Or how do I upgrade it in the best way??
Thank you for an amzing theme!
May 25, 2017 at 4:29 am #799332Hey toolflex,
First let’s try to get your editor working by disabling your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause. To create a child theme see here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/
Now to answer your question about using the export feature and protecting your customizations, we first must ask what kind of customizations have you done?
Did you add css to your General Styling > Quick CSS field?
Did you change the css in your style.css via Appearance > Editor?
Did you add code to your functions.php?
Did you edit any other theme .php files? If you only made changes within Enfold, and add some css in the General Styling > Quick CSS field, the export should work for you.
If you edited other files, you will need to save those files to add to your child theme.
Please consider making a backup first, I recommend https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/Best regards,
MikeMay 26, 2017 at 8:44 am #800022Hi Mike,
thank you for your quick response!I did as you suggested – and came to the conclusion that it is woocommerce that is distrurbing the enfold editor,
the next question s why? and what shall i do about it?I get a notices saying: “Please note that the Advanced Layout Builder for products will not work with all WooCommerce Extensions”
I have built up my webshop with woocommerce and enfold and it has been great – I did re-set the website to before I made any updates of woocommrece and it is still not working.
I have not made any adjustment to any php files, but to most .css files (layout and grid mostly)
thank you in advance.
May 28, 2017 at 12:03 am #800664Hi,
Good to hear you have found the issue, as the error says, in some pages like the “shop” page, and some product pages, the advanced Enfold editor won’t work, it conflicts with woo, in that case please try using the default WP editor.I have built up my webshop with woocommerce and enfold and it has been great – I did re-set the website to before I made any updates of woocommrece and it is still not working.
I’m not sure what you mean, you found the conflict, if you only use the default WP editor in those areas, is the site working?
I have not made any adjustment to any php files, but to most .css files (layout and grid mostly)
This is good, so when to use a child theme you’ll add copies of those css files to the child theme, the video here should help: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/

MikeMay 29, 2017 at 8:07 am #800960Hi Mike,
Well when I used version 3.3.2 and an earlier version of woocommerce, there was no conflict using the enfold editor on product pages,
Now after updating the woocommerce the enfold editor will still not work, so I tried doing a back-update (or re-set or what is is called)
but it was still not working.I can’t switch to the default editor – when I press the button nothing happens – but the website is running just fine and the customers does not notice any issues.
However, When adding a new product I can work with the default editor, but I would like to be able to update my current products that was built wiith enfold.I have now updated enfold now, it looks great and I could adjust all my changes – but the problem with the editor remains.

IsmaelJune 1, 2017 at 8:06 am #802395Hi Isamel,
thank you for taking the time!I am sorry to disapoint you – but I am just a beginer at this, I have no idea where I can find which PHP version I have
June 1, 2017 at 8:57 am #802415Hi,
We checked the site and the PHP version is 5.6.30 which is fine. Unfortunately, we’re still not sure what’s causing the issue so we deactivated the plugins except for WooCommerce. After that, the builder started to work again so it is indeed a plugin conflict. We activated the plugins again for the meantime. If you have the time, please deactivate them one at a time to find the cause of the issue.

IsmaelJune 1, 2017 at 8:59 am #802418Hi
I did that and came to the conclusion that it is woocommerce that is distrurbing the enfold editor,Is there anything you can do about it?
June 2, 2017 at 6:45 am #802879Hi,
It’s not the WooCommerce plugin that is causing the issue. We deactivated every plugins except for WooCommerce and the builder started to work again. There are other plugins that is causing the issue. Again, it’s not the WooCommerce plugin.

IsmaelJune 7, 2017 at 8:06 am #804891Hi Ismael,
that is wierd, since I did the same thing and it is not working…
Please let me know the next stepJune 7, 2017 at 11:32 am #805025Hi Ismael,
Another note:
I tried installing a different theme than Enfold, and woocommerce worked without any issues,I found more functions than the Layoutbuilder that was not woking with enfold,
such as Woocommerce, such as system status report, and their new freight options. Please help me,
June 9, 2017 at 8:09 am #805890Hi,
Are you hard refreshing the page or removing the browser cache after deactivating the plugins? We don’t want to leave the plugins deactivated it as might interfere with the site. Is it OK if we leave the plugins deactivated?
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 9, 2017 at 8:25 am #805903Hi Ismael,
yes I have cleared everything but saved passwords from my brower,June 13, 2017 at 9:43 am #807300Hi,
I am still having problem with this,
Please help, most urgent is enfold not working with woo commerce new freight option, and
the layoutbilder for product pages.June 13, 2017 at 9:48 am #807304Another note to Ismael:
the Layout builder works fine on regualar pages, but not in the product pages,
if you de-activate woocommerce the product pages will disaplearI tried installning another theme and it works fine with woocommerce, but i really really like enfold and would prefer it if I could continue to use it.
June 13, 2017 at 11:56 am #807389Hi,
I get a notices saying: “Please note that the Advanced Layout Builder for products will not work with all WooCommerce Extensions”
Are you editing the “shop” page? Please note that the advance layout builder is disabled for the base shop page by default because most of the shop extensions or plugins are not tested with the builder. If you want to enable the advance layout builder for the shop page, add this code in the functions.php file.
add_theme_support( 'avia_custom_shop_page' );
Again, the builder is working after deactivating the plugins.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 13, 2017 at 1:31 pm #807428Hi Ismael,
no not the shop page but the product pages that I create from woocommerce , posting a URL below,
the Layoutbuilder works fine in regular pages/posts.I tried adding your code to the functions.php file – but nothing happened, which is logical as it’s not the shop page.
Everything worked fine a few updates ago, but after updating both woocommerce and endfold they do not seem compatible with each other and
now I get the message “Please note that the Advanced Layout Builder for products will not work with all WooCommerce Extensions”
This was not shown when I created the webshop and everything has worked very good until now.The question is there is going to be an update making Enfold supporting all plugin extensions within a soon future? is there any way to go around it accessing all extensions?
I love working with enfold and you guys has such a great and fast support, but If I can’t use woocommerce fully I will be forced to switch theme,
Please let me know if there is another option, I really appreciate all the help.Thank you in advance.
June 14, 2017 at 9:33 am #807862Hi,
Thank you for the info. I can see the issue now but I’m still not sure what’s causing it. The jQuery scripts fails to load properly. Please get a fresh copy of the WordPress files then override your installation manually via FTP.
