When I go to update on avia layout builder its saves on the back end but gives the pink message “update failed”. It had been doing this prior to the new enfold update but now it all of sudden will not change the front end. I’ve tried hard refreshing, resetting the cache, clearing history. Restoring a revision now tells me there has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. And now I cannot get into editing at all.

    Please help

    Hey my247restore,

Thanks for the login details. Is this only happening on the front page? Editing other pages seems to be working as it should. Is there any special content on the front page which might be be causing this problem to happen?

    Best regards,

Yes it is only on the front page and the critical error happened randomly when I tried switching an icon on one of the blocks. But since the beginning stages of the design it originally said ajax error updated so I resaved the settings and that error went away. But afterword it simply just said updating failed message at top of screen. Although it would still save. But now I’m stuck and not sure how to fix.

I fixed it by increasing my PHP memory limit to 368M. Anything lower than that will provide the critical error. Also this seemed to fix the updating failure notice as well. If there is any reason that is a problem please let me know. Otherwise we can close this out.

    Hi,

Great, I’m glad that you found a solution. I’m not sure which PHP limit you had before, but your current one is actually a bit low for premium theme like Enfold. If everything is working as it should though, then please keep what you have in place for now.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
