    Hi,
I customised the regular Enfold theme december last year, having the Enfold version 4.1.2 and WP 4.8.5 running on my site.
Now I want to update top the latest theme and WP 4.9.4 WITHOUT LOOSING ALL THE CUSTOMISATION. If I understood it right in your documentation moving to a Child Theme now would not avoid I will miss the customisation.
How is best to update the theme in my case? All the customisation is done with the Enfold customisation settings, combining different layouts from several demo’s.
I hope you guys can help me. Thank you, Andréa

    Hey CD-amsterdam,

If you haven’t edited any of the core files like functions.php for instance, then your settings should be safe on updates. You should always keep proper backups in case something should go wrong though.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Just to be sure, no Child theme needed, right? So I can update it through WordPress or FTP, keeping the customisation, right?
Thank you for helping me :-)

    Hi,

If you haven’t made any changes on the Enfold theme, like modifying some of its files, if you made modifications via Quick CSS or in Theme Options, then no child theme is needed :) but as Rikard said, please do make a backup first before updating.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
