I am looking for advice from the Kriesi team. I am taking over a site that was built using Enfold but modified with custom css. They have even gone as far as changing the name of the theme. Now several plugins and WordPress need updates but I cannot update the theme because it was customized.

All pages were created using the page builder. Because of conflicts of outdated plugins, I can’t even get the page builder to load or switch over to the default editor. I’ve tried turning off plugins but that doesn’t help.

So my question is this, I want to load tu latest version of Enfold as a new theme and then switch. I can copy over the custom css and import styling but what I’m concerned about is wether pages will still work in page builder. It’s the same theme just a different name.

    Ideas or advice?

    Thanks, Scott

    Hey Scott,

I can’t see why the plan you have should not work, but you could activate debug mode as well in order to see the shortcode so that you can copy it if something should go wrong: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/. Backing everything up might be a good idea as well before you start doing anything.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Thanks Rikard,

I decided not to touch the theme as it was too customized and I was sure something would go wrong. Better safe than sorry.

    Thanks again for the help,

    Scott
