Guten Tag allerseits,

April 1, 2016 at 4:00 pm #606744Guten tag Kornelia!
I Google Translated your question but informed our German speaking moderators to keep an eye on the thread :)
1- You can see the change log here – http://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990#item-description__changelog or in version.txt file that can be found in the file that you download from ThemeForest
2- Your theme options are safe when you update the theme and if you moved your modified files (if there are any) to your child theme, they will be safe as well.Let us know if you have any other questions or issues!

YigitApril 1, 2016 at 4:22 pm #606762Hello Yigit,
thank you for answering quick. Though I speak English rather well, I just don’t know vocabulary like “Changelog” – not even the German equivalent if there is any. I would never have searched for this word to find the documentation of the update ;-)

Concerning issue 2, I am not sure wether I understood properly:
I thought I have first to update the Enfold theme, and then to update the Enfold Cild theme.Last time I did that all the modifications were gone.
This is what I want to avoid.
Now:
I downloaded everything, even the MYSQL-file, via FTP to my own computer.
BUT I do not know which files I have to upload again to save my modifications (I only modified things under “options”).
These are probably the “modified files” you are writing of.
If yes, where do I find those? And maybe there is a more elegant way to do all this?
Regards, Kornelia
April 1, 2016 at 4:26 pm #606766Hey!
Oh that is great! Since all moderators speak English and only a few German, if you post your questions in English, you would probably get faster and more accurate replies :)
Once you activate Enfold child theme, you can click on “Import parent theme options” and it will import these options to your child theme and after that when you save and refresh your page, your child theme should look just like your parent theme.
And you should only update Enfold parent theme.Best regards,
YigitApril 1, 2016 at 5:47 pm #606802Hello again,
though we communicate now in English, it seems I could not convey my questions properly ;-)
Sorry, I try again:
What you described above is exactly what I not want. I don’t want that the child theme looks like the parent theme.
That’s why I made the modifications in the options of the child theme.
And now I want that these will stay the same and only the rest of theme will be updated.OR did I make a mistake and should have made the modifications initially in the parent theme?
Regards, Kornelia

If you didn’t touch any files in the parent theme and you have a child theme, all you need is to update the parent theme and leave the child theme as it is. And note that updating the theme will not affect the theme options because it is saved in the database. However, for security purposes, make sure that you have a backup or restore point.
