Hi Team,
I hope you are well.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to do an Enfold update for a while because it changes my headings’ font sizes and colours.
I’ve tried twice now and needed to return to a backup version before the update.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Warmest regards,
Darren
March 3, 2023 at 4:40 am #1399929Hi Darren,
Can you setup a staging site for us? it’s basically just a duplicate of your live site and placed on a subdomain where we can try to update without affecting your live site, some hosting provider offer an option to create a staging site via cpanel, but your webhost does not have it on your Cpanel then you can use a plugin, please check this tutorial: https://wpengine.com/resources/what-is-a-staging-site-why-have-one/#How_to_Create_a_Staging_Site_for_WordPress
Just post the credentials in private content.Best regards,
NikkoJune 2, 2023 at 7:26 am #1409359Hi Team,
My host provider can’t organise a staging environment, so where do I go from here? When I go and update my theme, the font and size changes on some of my main heading pages, which is a bit annoying because I need to keep restoring the backup.
I have used the theme for many years and can’t update it to newer versions.
June 2, 2023 at 7:32 am #1409360The best I can do is allow access and do an on-demand backup via Jetpack in the c panel, which is how I have been trying to update the theme upgrade.
June 2, 2023 at 11:31 pm #1409450Hi,
If you are using cPanel try going to Softaculous WordPress Management for creating a staging site:
Otherwise see option #2 in Nikko’s article about using a plugin to create a staging site.Best regards,
MikeJune 21, 2023 at 3:12 am #1411224Hi Team,
Sorry for the delay, but we need to upgrade the hosting space to create the staging site with WP Staging.
The staging website and admin credentials to access the staging site are below.
Alos, I don’t have the pro version of WP Staging, so let me know if this would be better to implement changes to the live site.
Thank you for your help.
Cheers

June 21, 2023 at 3:40 am #1411226Hi,
When I try the login I get this error: Incorrect credentials! Only administrators can access this page.
When I try the alternative login link I get this error: The username enfold is not registered on this site.
Please check.Looking back at your first post you wrote: I have been unable to do an Enfold update for a while because it changes my headings’ font sizes and colours.
Are only a few headings changed? Is all th other text, colors, and fonts correct? Perhaps we can correct the few headings with some css? Or is there a big change in the site?
Either way we should probably examine on your staging site first.Best regards,
MikeJune 21, 2023 at 3:50 am #1411228Hi Mike,
I have quite a few pages that it happens to, and unfortunately, I don’t have the time to fix them up after each update you guys do.
If I could potentially get it working properly or find out why it happens, that would be amazing.
Cheers,
DarrenJune 21, 2023 at 3:52 am #1411229Hi Mike,
So perhaps try this then below. That should be registered.June 22, 2023 at 6:15 pm #1411407Hi,
Thanks for the login to your staging site, I exported your child theme settings and took a couple of screenshots for reference and tried to update the theme to see the styling errors, but your PHP Max Upload Size is set to 16mb which is too small to update the theme, please change the PHP Max Upload Size to about 20mb so I can try updating.
I imagine that I should easily be able to see the error once I update, but is there a specific element that I should pay attention to that shows the biggest change or error after updating?Best regards,
MikeJune 23, 2023 at 1:11 am #1411440Excellent, thanks, Mike.
I’ve gone ahead and updated it to 64MG max upload.
You should see it on the first page in the slider banner and all other headings on pages with the same sliders. They go from large to small and change from white to our corporate burnt orange.June 23, 2023 at 5:57 pm #1411503Hi,
Thanks, I updated your staging site to v5.6.2 but I see no errors, the text in the top slider on the homepage is white, and I comprared the other elements on the homepage, all look the same to me.
Please clear your browser cache and check.Best regards,
MikeJune 23, 2023 at 11:24 pm #1411521That’s great Mike.
Can I ask how you are doing the update?
I do the update from the theme section on the dashboard. Should I be doing it another way potentially?June 24, 2023 at 12:17 pm #1411545Hi,
I did the update from the theme section on the dashboard, but first I disabled Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ JS & CSS file merging and compression and clear your cache plugin.
To update download the latest installable WP version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.
Best regards,
MikeJune 26, 2023 at 2:37 am #1411679Hi Mike,
I tried to update the theme via the dashboard under theme updates and run into the same issue and cleared the cache etc. How are you updating the theme? Sounded like you uploaded a file to the host and not that way.
Sorry, I just saw your response.
Cheers
