    Updated to 5.2, and the footer has disappeared.

    I am using a child theme, and understand that there was an issue with it in 4.8, but I don’t know how to fix it.

    Hi braddoyle,

    You will need to update your child theme’s header and/or footer.php file.
    Can you give us temporary admin access as well as FTP access? so we can try to check and fix it for you.

    Hi braddoyle,

    Thanks for giving us admin access (FTP does not work, but I don’t think it’s needed now).
    I have checked the child theme and it seems you have header.php however I don’t find any tweaks on it, so you can safely delete it and that should fix the problem.
    As for the gap (I could not find the full-width easy, I only see layersliders) try to clear the cache or temporarily deactivate it, also try to temporarily disable CSS File Merging And Compression in Enfold > Performance and see if it helps.

    Hi Nikko,

    Just to be clear, I am deleting the header.php to fix a problem with the footer not appearing?

    I have included a link to a page with a full-width easy, as well as another site that I am having the footer issue on.

    have a look to new header.php – look for lines 66 till 132 and 172-173

    so if there is an older child-theme header.php with no support for those new features ( like curtain effect etc. ) …

    Hi,
    I see in your first site you have a child theme header.php, and in the second site you have a child theme header.php and footer.php.
    Please remove your child theme header.php and footer.php, if you know of any customizations in them then save them to your computer for future review.
    These files have changed in the current version and is typically the cause of this kind of error.
