After I updated Enfold for my site last night, I got the white fatal error screen noting errors in multiple areas. I then installed a fresh copy of Enfold via FTP, reactivated the theme, and then added the specified error pages one by one. I am now able to access the admin dashboard, however now the site’s header and footer are not displaying correctly, and the Enfold customization section within the dashboard is not completely functioning.

I am lost and don’t know what to do… I am worried about updating my other sites that use Enfold, for fear of this happening to all of them.

Site and credentials are attached for access if needed. Your help is greatly appreciated!!

    Hey a3brown4,

Sorry for the delay, it appears that the website is missing some custom css, let us know if the site used custom code earlier?

A plugin conflict may be one of the reason for this issue.
To find which plugin is causing the conflict please follow these steps:

    1. Go to your plugins page > Deactivate all active Plugins
    2. Update WordPress and Enfold to latest version if you have not.
    3. Make sure all the plugins are updated.
    4. If the problem does not persist when plugins are turned off, activate one plugin at a time and refresh until you find the plugin in conflict.

We await the results of your plugin compatibility test.

    Thanks for your cooperation :)

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Hi Vijay,

No custom css was used, outside of the quick css via the Enfold admin dashboard.

I will try to overwrite with a fresh style.css via ftp, then? I have tried deactivating the plugins to see if that solved the problem, but it didnt help.

    Hi,

What is the version of the theme prior to the update? Did you just move the site? Please go to the wp-content > uploads > dynamic_avia folder then rename the enfold.css file there. Go back to the Enfold > Theme Options, toggle any options to regenerate the css file.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael-

I updated from the previous version, however I think there was a line of code added to the functions.php file due to sliders disappearing after the previous Enfold update. I unfortunately don’t remember what the line of code was though…

I renamed the CSS file and regenerated a new CSS file, and that has fixed the header and footer. However, the custom phone number at the top has disappeared and the Enfold General Styling menu is still messed up.

    Hi,

in your case I would go back using a backup. Make sure your codes/adjustments are inside a child theme and not in the original theme, cause this way you won’t loose your modifications.

You could also ask your host if they can go back for you, if you do not have a backup by yourself.

    Best regards,
    Andy
