So…for some reason this site: https://ggrounds.com NEVER gets the auto updates… the username and code is filled in correctly. GRRR.
So I did an ftp of the update and it broke the site. Why does this do it?

I had to go to the server cpanel and restore files. And now it says it is updated..what the heck is going on? Why doesn’t this site get the auto updates like several others do…

    Hey elames,

Please try this plugin to clear WordPress transients if you do not receive auto updates and make sure your API key is correct: https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/.

If it does not help, I am afraid you might need to update the theme manually – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

Unfortunately not all Server environments are able to make use of the auto update feature provided by ThemeForest.

If updating breaks your website, please try deleting /wp-content/themes/enfold folder and re-installing it – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/install-enfold-theme-with-ftp/. Also, please make sure you are using PHP version 5.6 or higher.

    Best regards,

I have a half dozen sites all on the same server. They all update automatically except for this one. I did download and ftp the files manually as you said and it broke the sketch with 500 error message.
Finally went into the cpanel and did a restore files from backups and then it started working and the update took! Go figure😽

I will have to recheck with client to be sure she put in the correct license code. Do codes use – or just all numbers? That could be the issue I just discovered.
Thanks as always for your help.

    Hi,

No, there are no dashes in API key. Maybe purchase code was inserted instead of API key? To make sure, please review this post – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ :)

    Best regards,
