    Gents,
a few years ago a web designer created angelasommerhoff.com
While he obviously used the ENFOLD Theme as a basis, he renamed it somehow. When accessing the theme folder via FTP it still shows ENFOLD, but in the WP dashboard his business name shows up.

    My goal:
After making back ups of files and databases, I upgraded to WP 4.7. Now I want to update the theme as well.
I purchased a fresh version of Enfold with service package and replaced the existing ENFOLD files via FTP.

    My problem:
I seem to have a mix of old and new ENFOLD files. The page works, but I don’t have the full functionality of the Theme and the modified name of the web designer (who seems to be out of business) still shows up…

    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Christian

    Hey Imbju,

You are not running the latest version of the theme. Could you please try to overwrite the theme files with a fresh copy from your Themeforest account via FTP to see if that helps? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,
Thanks a lot for looking into this.
As I wrote initially, That’s what I did. I downloaded the latest version from Themeforest and overwrote via FTP…..

    Hi Christian,

The theme options page is still displaying the old layout so you’re not unfortunately, maybe you could try uploading it regularly to WordPress and then copy your settings over using the Import/Export functionality in the theme options?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
I just tried to do this. Unfortunately I receive an error message that the folder already exists
    /homepages/40/d551878411/htdocs/angelasommerhoff/wp-content/themes/enfold/

Should I rename the folder via FTP and call it for instance “ENDOLD_OLD”?
    Best regards,
    Christian

    Hi,

Yes please rename the current theme folder as “enfold_old” and create a new folder “enfold” and upload the theme files directly into this folder.

Please note: If you are not using a child theme and have added any custom code to any php files it will have to be redone after uploading the new theme files.

    Best regards,

    Hi,
no success. I tried a couple of things including renaming and deleting the folder of the installed modified ENFOLD Theme.
When I install the the latest version of ENFOLD, I still see the tuned dashboard in WP.

Is there someone that offers a paid service to get this straight?
The job to be done: 1.) Install ENFOLD keeping the existing design 2.) Clean up the system via FTP to trash all irrelevant files. 3.) Other fine tuning if necessary.

    Thanks and regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

Yes there are plenty of freelancers who could help you out with that, we recommend contacting Codable. Otherwise you should be able to find someone on freelancer networks like Upwork or Hubstaff.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
