Hi,
I’ve just updated Enfold to 3.2, but Layerslider is still the same old version. How do I get it to update too? Thanks
June 5, 2015 at 9:29 am #455010Hey NMOI!
The Layerslider is bundled with the theme and can’t be updated individually unless you buy a separate licence for it but that shouldn’t be necessary. Do you have any problems with it?
Best regards,
RikardJune 5, 2015 at 9:34 am #455013Hi Rikard,
I fully understand the principle. The problem is that Enfold 3.2 is supposed to embed the lastest Layerslider version. However, as for myself, nothing has changed; still 5.3.1. So there is an plugin update problem related to the theme update.
ThanksJune 5, 2015 at 6:15 pm #455223Hi!
Have you updated Enfold via FTP and overwrite all files – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/? I have 5.4.0 on my local installation

No, I’ve updated it from WordPress itself.
Do you suggest that I should manually redo it again? If yes, here is what I think I should do:
1) Backup my CSS changes
2) Manualy overwrite the Enfold folder in the theme folder with a freshly downloaded at Envato’s
3) Restore my CSS changes
Did I get it right?Thanks
June 6, 2015 at 12:52 pm #455469Hey!
Did you install layer slider as a stand alone plugin? Version 3.2 should include the layer slider version 5.4.0.
Yes, you got it right but if you add the css codes in the Quick CSS field, you don’t have to create a backup because it will be retained after the update although creating a back up won’t hurt so do it anyway.
Cheers!
IsmaelJune 7, 2015 at 9:08 am #455597Hi Ismael,
No, I didn’t buy Layerslider as a standalone plugin.
I’ve just overwriten the theme, and it’s still Layerslider 5.3.1. If I overwrite the plugin folder with the one I’ve found in the update theme download, then I get the 5.4.0. However, there is a message saying that the plugin should be registered and so on.
What should I do? Keep this “manual” update?
I was thinking deactivating then deleting the plugin, and reinstalling it from the theme options. Would I keep my slides? What do you suggest?
Thanks

Can you try re-upload the Enfold latest version, and let us know if that works as should?

Yes. I’ve tried both automatic update and manual overwriting with the lastest version (3.2), but it didn’t change a thing.
Thanks
